A few days back, Rahul Gandhi went overseas to join his mother and party president Sonia Gandhi, who is outside the country for the health checkup.

According to senior Congress leader PL Punia, the Uttar Pradesh unit of the party has already discussed the reasons behind the party's performance with all the candidates who had contested in these elections.

In a Facebook post, state Youth Congress Vice President C R Mahesh said "Rahul should quit if he has no interest to lead the party from the front", he said.

It was quite unfortunate that the Congress in Kerala was without a president for the last two weeks, he added.

The proposal came soon after Gandhi lost four of the five assembly elections held in five states. He is considered close to party chief Sonia Gandhi. While party leader Digvijaya Singh said Rahul was not acting decisively, another leader Satyavrat Chaturvedi questioned Rahul's leadership following the party's humiliating defeat in UP.

The Congress leader, a Rajya Sabha MP who earlier headed the National Commission for Scheduled Castes, said a conclusion will be given to the party leadership as part of the review exercise once inputs are received from state Congress leaders.

Vishal Diwan, from Madhya Pradesh's Hoshangabad, approached Guinness Book of World Records and made an unique request. "So my effort is to fetch some fame for him".
