Another anti-Zuma march will take place next week

Opposition parties et al form Freedom Movement to kick President Zuma out

Some of South Africa's biggest civil society movements, political parties and religious groups have united under a single organisation dubbed "The Freedom Movement".

"He must go now. We must protect it with all our strength‚" Mashele said. "We want to stop him, because he can still do more damage".

The organisation is made up of political parties, the religious fraternity, students, civil society and academia.

"Never before has there been a more urgent need to build unity of goal to stop South Africa's current trajectory", said the movement at its launch in Soweto, a hotbed of the struggle against apartheid. I've been fortunate to chair SADC opposition parties platform ... "It looks like the struggle has been hijacked by some corrupt elements".

The movement was formed this week and held a media briefing in Soweto on Thursday. That's why we say we will support any other similar movement, no matter the size.

"If we get tired‚ Jacob Zuma will destroy this country". This means that the cost of living for ordinary South Africans will become more unbearable.

BMW Helps National Parks Go Electric
This partnership supports the National Park Foundation's Centennial Campaign for America's National Parks . Members of the public-private partnership are identifying park locations for additional charging stations.

"You don't have to belong to any political party or wear a T-shirt or whatever to be there". They say enough is enough!

Mashele said that the movement has the support of Archbishop Emeritus, Desmond Tutu, whom he quoted as having said: "In principle Aunt Leah and I are in support of a united coalition calling on all South Africans to join the event on 27 April 2017".

"South Africans are anxious about the future of their children and their country".

Tutu, seen as the country's leading moral authority, said in a tweet that he supported the movement, adding "it is important that we unite as South Africans to bring an end to state capture". "Let's work together in the interest of a better life for all our people".

The organisations, who jointly called themselves the "Freedom Movement" will gather at Freedom Park, Pretoria next week to demonstrate against Zuma's presidency.

Mashele said the immediate objective of this grouping was to help facilitate a large-scale protest outside Parliament‚ when the Motion of No Confidence is debated.
