Chinese-origin doctor dragged off United Airlines flight files court papers

A United spokeswoman told the AP on Wednesday that all passengers aboard that flight will receive compensation equal to the cost of their plane tickets.

A 69-year-old doctor, Dao was one of four people who was randomly selected to get off the oversold plane just before it was supposed to take off Sunday from O'Hare International Airport for Louisville, in order to make room for United flight crew members who needed to get to an assignment.

Airlines sell more seats than they have because they are counting on a certain number of passengers not to make the flight as planned.

Aninda Sadhukhan visited his shredder to dispose of his United MileagePlus Explorer card with Chase Bank on Monday night after he canceled the account.

"United is looking at a legal claim, but they're also looking at a huge public relations and business problem", said Justin Green, a partner at the law firm Kreindler & Kreindler in NY who represents airline passengers.

Dao remains in a Chicago hospital where he is undergoing treatment for injuries suffered during his removal from the plane.

His lawyers filed court papers on Wednesday asking the airline and the city of Chicago to preserve evidence in the case. His legal team planned to hold a news conference Thursday to discuss the matter with reporters.

There were so many ways that the airline could have handled this situation appropriately, "but to actually drag him out of his seat and to bloody him, is just absolutely outrageous", Chu said. He had refused to give up his seat on a flight to Louisville, Kentucky.

Vardy insists Leicester can be proud of Champions League run
Juventus could face either Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid or Monaco in the last four, with the ties to be decided in Nyon on Friday. They never let their heads drop. "We lived in fear all night". 13 - points total as they finished top of Group G.

Since no one wanted to give up their seats, the crew chose randomly, and one of them was Dr. David Dao. "Somebody would have obviously taken it if they offered enough money", Lazer said.

Chicago Aviation Commissioner Ginger Evans will also speak. "That's what happened with three of the passengers in this case", Snyder said. He added that he expects Dao would be able to secure a settlement.

Passengers agree to a litany of terms in any airline's "contract of carriage", which they agree to when purchasing a ticket. But the agreement doesn't sign away the right to sue if the airline treats a passenger in a manner that breaches the law. They'll call the cops on you.' And I'm like, 'For what? United did not return CNN's request for comment. Airlines also bump passengers if they unexpectedly have to fly a smaller plane than originally planned.

"You have an obligation", Murphy said.

"That shame and embarrassment was pretty palpable for me and for a lot of our family", said Munoz, who initially described passenger David Dao in a leaked email to staff as "disruptive and belligerent".

U.S. President Donald Trump said it was "horrible" that Dao was dragged off the flight, according to an interview from the Wall Street Journal.

He added: "It was a system failure, we have not provided our front line supervisors and managers with the proper tools, policies, procedures that allow them to use their common sense".
