The court was hearing the appeal of Dhoni against the proceedings initiated by one Yerraguntla Shayamsundar against him at the trial court at Anantpur.

Supreme Court observed that it would be travesty of justice if Dhoni was prosecuted as he didn't do anything with malicious intent.

Dhoni is now busy in playing for the Indian Premier League franchise Rising Pune Supergiant. Pune has managed to win only 2 out of his 5 matches under the new captain Steve Smith.

Dhoni will be hoping to mark the joy of success on the field sooner rather than later and he would be hoping to make an impact in RPS' next fixture which will be against reigning IPL champions Sunrisers Hyderabad at home on Saturday.

Dhoni's counsel had placed before the court an affidavit where the World Cup-winning skipper had claimed that he hadn't posed for the cover photo.
