Trump pledges help for Turkey on Syria

Inside Story: Where's Turkey headed after its referendum?

"The OSCE's report has no reliability as their observations lack objectivity and are extremely partial", Cavusoglu told a news conference in Ankara.

Turkey voted on Sunday to switch to a presidential system, greatly increasing Erdogan's powers.

On Tuesday, the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) and the pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) requested the poll be scrapped due to alleged violations, including vote rigging.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said his plans to assume sweeping new powers do not make him a dictator.

"Objection to election results should remain there", he said. And European election observers said the referendum took place in a political environment where fundamental freedoms were curtailed.

Turkey's top electoral officials have rejected petitions by opposition parties to throw out the result of a referendum on expanding the president's powers.

Down and Distance: Aaron Hernandez, A Life Full of Darkness
While that won't change Hernandez's reputation, it could have a dramatic impact on the lives of the family members he left behind. Hernandez hung himself and was pronounced dead at a MA hospital early Wednesday, April 19, 2017, according to officials.

Kilicdaroglu said he respected the nation's will but the decision on unsealed ballots had overshadowed the results.

Several global election monitors have also criticised the referendum.

But the tight result of a highly charged campaign laid bare divisions and triggered challenges from the opposition over its legitimacy. The "no" campaign said it faced intimidation and threats of violence, while opposition figures and journalists were jailed. Turkey's political parties held mass rallies on Saturday, a week ahead of a referendum on whether to shift to the presidential system.

In Istanbul, hundreds of "no" supporters demonstrated in the streets on Monday night, chanting "thief, murderer, Erdogan" and banging pots and pans.

According to the spokesperson for the European Commission, Margaritis Schinas, the call came after Turkey rejected worldwide observers' criticism of the referendum on Sunday. But the worldwide electoral monitor said that while the referendum's technical processes were well administered, there were key issues related to media coverage and the circumstances under which the vote occurred, such as Turkey's ongoing state of emergency enacted after a failed coup d'etat attempt a year ago.

Under the revised constitution, Erdogan will be able to abolish the post of Prime Minister and assume broad new powers to rule by decree.

Trump and Erdogan spoke via phone on Monday in a pre-arranged call, in which the US President offered congratulatory words, as well as discussing topics such as the ongoing conflict in Syria.
