Speeding truck runs into pole crushes six under wheels 14 electrocuted in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor

The injured were being shifted to hospitals nearby.

At least 20 people died and 10 others were injured after a truck ploughed through commercial roadside shops at Yerpedu village in Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh on Friday.

The truck was going from Srikalahasti to Tirupati.

6 people lost their lives in collision, the others died of electrocution. Hospital sources suggest that the toll is likely to go up since some of the injured are in critical condition. A group of villagers, including farmers, who had come to the police station were standing near the shops at the time of accident.

Police from Chittoor said as per the preliminary information, the truck was carrying heavy load of crushed stones and travelling at high speed, hence lost control and ran over at least 20 persons.
