Bill O'Reilly loses job at Fox News following sexual harassment allegations

O'Reilly's public statement on Wednesday gave no indication about what he might do next.

Fox News has made a decision to part ways with star cable news host Bill O'Reilly following allegations of sexual harassment, the company said.

Conservative megastar talk show host Bill O'Reilly has been dropped from the Fox News Channel lineup following an investigation into allegations of sexual harassment, 21st Century Fox said Wednesday.

The New York Times reports that an African-American woman - who remains anonymous - came forward this week with allegations of her own, saying O'Reilly would at various times grunt like a "wild boar" at her desk, leer at her and refer to her as "hot chocolate".

O'Reilly had worked for Fox News since its 1996 launch, and the end of his career there came the same day the official Vatican newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano, photographed him shaking hands with Pope Francis in St. Peter's Square.

Thursday Executions Off While Legal Battle Continues
The scheduling was necessary, the state has acknowledged, because the state's midazolam supply expires at the end of the month. Asa Hutchinson to complain that state judges aren't honoring the decisions jurors made when sentencing the prisoners to death.

Walsh does not have a legal claim against O'Reilly due to the statute of limitations on harassment cases in NY and California, but she did report the matter to the human resources hotline of the company earlier this month. The probe was conducted by the same law firm that looked into sexual harassment charges against then Fox chairman and CEO Roger Ailes, who denied the allegations, but resigned past year in a $40 million separation agreement with Fox. But the New York Times reported that two of the O'Reilly settlements were reached after Ailes left. NY magazine said that Rupert Murdoch and his sons James and Lachlan, who run Fox parent 21st Century Fox, had decided that O'Reilly was out and executives were planning the exit. He was the top-rated host in cable news, serving up defiant commentary every weekday at 8 p.m., with a message that celebrated patriotism and expressed scorn for political correctness.

After the report advertisers including BMW of North America, Allstate Corp, French pharmaceuticals maker Sanofi SA and T. Rowe Price, pulled their advertising from O'Reilly's primetime "The O'Reilly Factor" show. One look at the O'Reilly controversy shows how it's clear that no one, including a massive news network, wants to be associated with an individual accused of sexual misconduct, even if he is steadfast in his denial.

21 Century Fox, Fox News's parent company, announced earlier Wednesday that O'Reilly would not return to the network.

It would be satisfying to imagine Fox News found its conscience Wednesday, firing Bill O'Reilly because sexual harassment was intolerable in that workplace.

It's about the female Fox News hosts - Megyn Kelly, Greta Van Susteren - lost to less sexist cable networks. Eric Bolling, who had been a co-host of "The Five", is taking the 5 p.m. hour by himself, though his new show will not debut until May 1.
