Business could be first drive-thru pot shop in Colorado

The first drive-thru pot shop in the country is opening in Colorado, just in time for the annual "high holiday" of 4/20.

A spokesman for the state Marijuana Enforcement Division, Robert Goulding, says it isn't aware of any other drive-thru pot shops in Colorado.

The original Tumbleweed dispensary opened in February 2016, situated on the east edge of town near a Wendy's, a Shell station and a liquor store.

"A door opens up and you drive the vehicle into the building and then the door closes behind you, like in a Jiffy Lube".

Officials with Colorado's marijuana regulator were not immediately available for comment on Wednesday, but were quoted in local media as saying the store would need to abide by statewide rules and bar people under 21 from the premises, even in the back of a vehicle.

Besides, they also discussed about the CBI's action against the top leaders of the TMC and BJD in chit fund scam. "Courtesy call. As neighbouring states, it is good to keep in touch, she said adding "Politics is a continuous process".

The third is that no marijuana can be visible from outside the licensed premises. All the state's dispensary rules apply.

Parachute is home to about 1,100 people and marijuana is big business in the small town. While it remains controversial, its impact has helped the town's economy catch its breath. He said that marijuana provides the town with the financial resources to move forward with capital projects that would otherwise not be feasible.

"Tumbleweed has been a good neighbor and has made large investments into town", he added later. According to the Post Independent, almost 30 percent of the town's tax receipts previous year were from marijuana sales.

National news outlets are expected to cover the grand opening, which will take place from 1 p.m.to midnight and feature food trucks, live music, radio broadcasts and product giveaways. The drive-thru will be open 4 p.m.to midnight Thursday through Sunday.
