Celtics Expect Thomas to Rejoin Team for Game Three

Their opponent, the Chicago Bulls have given them some trouble in the early stages of round one. It has been most notable on the offensive end as Chicago has made the Celtics pay.

During the regular season the Bulls were not unstoppable. Ainge said that tends to happen in the playoffs, especially when teams aren't playing well, but agrees that the C's let their emotions get the best of them on Tuesday night. On Thursday, Hoiberg praised reserves Bobby Portis and Paul Zipser for their parts in Chicago's success.

They barely broke even on the season, finishing off their 16-17 campaign going 41-41. In Game 2 the margin was less drastic (43-38), but still apparent with the Bulls grabbing five more defensive rebounds.

Their opponent, the Celtics were also carrying some momentum. If they come out aggressive and energized, it will be hard to take them down in game three.

If Rondo and Wade can play well when it matters the most, and Butler continues to shine, the top-seeded Celtics will have a tough road ahead if they hope to move on to the next round.

Lowry scored just four points in Saturday's Game 1 loss, missing all six of his 3-point attempts. But it's Rajon Rondo who's at the forefront of Boston's mind. Well, the Bulls are coming home to the United Center for Game 3 on Friday night and Game 4 with a 2-0 series lead. Marcus Smart led the way off the bench with nine points in Game 1. Not to mention, Thomas only averages 2.7 rebounds a game.

The state of Veracruz also became Mexico's most unsafe region for journalists, with 17 killed during his time in office. Both Mexico and the United States are expected to file extradition requests with the Italian authorities.

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook leans over in the waning seconds during the second half in Game 2 of an NBA basketball first-round playoff series, Wednesday, April 19, 2017, in Houston.

On the other hand, the Celtics have struggled to find that spark. Chicago completed their goal to say the least. Definitely don't put yourself in a 0-2 hole having home court advantage.

Game 3 will be back in Chicago Friday night, but Wade said he expects the Celtics to come thundering back to try and punish the Bulls for those first two losses.

Now, they will play their next two games in front of their own fans, who will undoubtedly be re-energized by the Bulls' unexpected, and nearly unprecedented, series lead.

The odds do not look good for the Celtics to advance past the first round but it would also be foolish to count the first seed in the Eastern Conference out. He may not be able to exclusively carry Boston to an NBA Championship in the postseason. Performances like this are what the Bulls will need to knock off the Celtics. Yet through two games, the teams are tied at 60-60 in scoring.

In Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Clippers turned up the pressure inside on Tuesday to salvage a split of the first two games of their National Basketball Association playoff series against the Utah Jazz.
