Chevrolet FNR-X concept debuts at 2017 Shanghai auto show

Chevrolet FNR-X

Called the FNR-X, the U.S. auto maker claims its latest concept draws inspiration from the 2015 Chevrolet FNR (Find New Roads) concept that was shown back at the 2015 Shanghai show but, in the flesh, the latest design study looks like it borrows much from the current Camaro.

Looking only a step or two removed from production, the FNR-X could preview a Bowtie-badged rival to the Toyota C-HR - aggressively styled in similar fashion to, say, the Lexus NX, but with grille and light designs to render it unmistakably Chevy.

The idea of a more practical vehicle on GM's "Voltec" platform is not exactly new, with the Volt MPV5 concept shown at the Beijing Auto Show in 2010.

Remarking on the FNR-X, Alan Batey, GM executive vice president and president of GM North America and Global Chevrolet, said: "The Chevrolet-FNR is one of Chevrolet's most forward-thinking concept cars, truly exemplifying the brand's passion for innovation and ingenuity".

The company labels the FNR-X as an "all-purpose sports concept vehicle", and has given it a wide selection of technologies to match its futuristic styling.

Juventus star Paulo Dybala reveals agreement on Barcelona
Juventus eliminated Barcelona from the quarter finals of the Champions League winning for 3-0 on aggregate. We must have had 13, 14 shots and none on target, which is where you do damage.

The plug-in hybrid electric vehicle can switch between its engine and electric motor, while offering two driving modes: V (Versatility) and S (Sport).

The absence of a B-pillar coupled with conventional front and remote-controllable coach-style rear doors ease access to the FNR-X Concept's roomy passenger cabin which boasts a rich feature set of its own.

The FNR-X supports intelligent connected mobility for individual users. The steering wheel and dashboard have a sporty integrated design, while the seats can be moved easily to maximize cargo capacity.

Suspension and ground clearance is adjustable, and the FNR-X is fitted with an all-terrain Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS). There's also ambient lighting here, along with high-tech fabrics an OLED (organic light emitting diode) instrument cluster display. A "panoramic intelligent augmented reality head-up display", which consists of three head-up displays within the dash, offers a zoomed-out, lateral view of the vehicle to further enhance safety.
