Consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav to be decided on basis of merit

The petition started by one S.S said, "The fact that India is not given consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav clearly proves the point that the charges over which death sentence is awarded to Jadhav are false and fabricated".

He said Jadhav was found guilty after a "fair trial according to the law of the land". India condemned the sentence awarded to Jadhav and warn Pakistan that if it hangs Jadhav then the government and people of India will regard it as a case of premeditated murder.

He said India was displaying "complete disregard" for the UN Charter and International Covenant and Conventions and challenging the international community.

"This petition seeks justice for Mr Kulbhushan Jadhav an Indian citizen and ex-naval officer aged about 46 years who was abducted from Iran and taken to Pakistan", reads the petition that was created on April 14.

Jadhav was arrested in March past year in the restive Balochistan province and accused of being a Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) agent.

After serving two years in the Navy during World War 2, Rickles set out to be an actor but transitioned to stand-up comedy. There were many times on the roast that I literally fell out of my chair laughing.

The Pakistan Army had also released a "confessional video" of Jadhav after his arrest.

"Against this background, I would like to appeal the Pakistan authorities not to go ahead with the execution of Kulbushan Jadhav as that step would add enormously to the present atmosphere of bickering and extremism".

Asked if the Prime Ministers of Pakistan and India would meet on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Kazakhstan, the spokesperson said: "There is nothing on the table yet, as the SCO Summit is nearly two months away".

"Nevertheless, we have consistently maintained that meaningful, result-oriented dialogue, sustainable and constructive engagement to address all outstanding issues, particularly Kashmir issue, is the only way forward. Hostility and escalation benefits none".
