Get Sasikala family's resignation for AIADMK factions merger, demands OPS camp

Finance minister Jayakumar

There were also reports that he might try to flee the country, following which all airports, sea ports have been alerted with Dinakaran's details. "I heard that ministers had taken a decision to keep me away from the party".

Dinakaran, who had on Wednesday convened a meeting of the MLAs backing him, called it off at the last moment, apparently because his supporters were outnumbered by those arrayed against him.

A Delhi Court had earlier on Monday sent Sukesh Chandrashekhar, the middleman alleged of striking a deal of Rs. 50 crore to help the AIADMK faction keep the "two leaves" poll symbol, to eight-day long police custody.

The only question which remains unanswered is whether Edappadi Palaniswamy would move out and Panneerselvam be made the Chief Minister. But with this decision of Mannargudi family's seclusion brewing among ministers, reaction of TTV Dinakaran will play a pivotal role in AIADMK's future course.

Prior to the OPS camp's fresh list of demands, Finance Minister Jayakumar on being asked whether they would insist on Sasikala and Dhinakaran's resignations, said, "I clearly spelt out (on Tuesday night) delinking of that family".

The former chief minister said this struggle, launched "as per the wishes and aspirations of people and party cadre", will continue. There has been a strong public perception that this family could be a polluting element in the ruling party and the government, so it must be stopped at all costs.

Premier League clubs enjoy record revenues but suffer losses
In 2015-16 wages accounted for 64% of income, compared with 71% in 2012-13 and 69% in 2009-10. Exceptional costs amounted to £110 million, a similar sum to the combined pre-tax loss.

The Palanisamy government propped up by Dinakaran so far, has a tenuous majority with 122 MLAs in a Assembly of 234 members. "We only demanded a CBI investigation into Jayalalithaa's death".

According to Panneerselvam, MGR never involved his brother in party affairs when he founded the AIADMK and then ruled Tamil Nadu for a decade until his death in December 1987.

Both AIADMK factions are desperate for a unity because they realise they will find fighting the next civic body elections tough against the DMK in the absence of the familiar "two leaves" election symbol.

With his erstwhile followers threatening to desert him, AIADMK Amma general secretary TTV Dinakaran on Wednesday made a decision to bow out and pave the way for the merger of his faction with that of his rival O Panneerselvam.

He claimed that he had told Dhinakaran that he will get a favourable verdict from the Election Commission of India in the party symbol case, he said.

The EPS camp also said all members of Sasikala's family, also known as the Mannagurdi mafia, will not be allowed into the party, one of the main grudges of the OPS faction.
