Google Home now supports multiple users

It could eventually incorporate a feature where Home's users can block others from accessing the device, but Google isn't ready to do that yet.

Google Home will now support multiple Google accounts and tell the difference between users' voices. Then users are tasked to link their Google accounts to the smart speaker and train it to recognize their voices by barking the familiar "OK Google" or "Hey Google" trigger phrases twice. Well, this problem ends today.

Google said Google Assistant on Google Home should recognise you going forward and be personalised to you - from music to news.

Previously, the Google Assistant-backed smart speaker could only support a user at a time, making it a hassle to personalize the experience to yourself without messing up another individual's settings. During the training process, your "OK Google" phrases are analysed by a neural network, which Google says can "detect certain characteristics of a person's voice".

However, one shortcoming of this feature is as long as the microphone is turned on Google Home will not prevent an unauthorized voice from activating the assistant. Future "OK Google" commands are compared to the previous analysis, and Google Home decides if it's a match.

Supreme Court Spares Arkansas Death-Row Inmate
The executions of Stacey Johnson and Ledell Lee are scheduled for April 20, but their attorneys are working to halt those as well. The original plan was to double the executions over four nights, prior to the state's supply of lethal injection drugs expired.

That's a feature that Amazon's Echo doesn't have.

First, make sure you're using the latest version of the Google Home app on your mobile device. "We're just getting started and we won't be flawless", the statement said. For example, two people using Google Home used to get the same schedule. Until it's confident the feature will work sans any missteps, Google advises users not to rely on voice recognition as a security feature.

From there, the device can identify who is speaking in "a matter of milliseconds".

The move will help differentiate Google Home from Amazon's Echo, which can't do the same thing yet.
