Guentzel's hat trick puts Blue Jackets on brink of elimination

Through the first three games of round one it isn't out of the question, and, without sounding like Captain Obvious, a quick disposal of the Blue Jackets would be extremely beneficial for the Penguins.

The teams traded goals in the third period before Guentzel beat Bobrovsky for the victor. Jake Guentzel scored his first career hat-trick, and Sergei Bobrovsky faced 47 shots.

The Penguins' attack was relentless, never more so than in Game 3, when they turned a 3-1 deficit after one period into a backbreaking 5-4 win.

Columbus Blue Jackets' Oliver Bjorkstrand, left, and Pittsburgh Penguins' Olli Maatta chase the puck during the first period of Game 4 Tuesday in Columbus, Ohio.

NEW YORK - Alexander Radulov had a goal and an assist to lead Montreal to a 3-1 victory over the New York Rangers on Sunday night, giving the Canadiens a 2-1 lead in the first-round playoff series. The best goaltender in the regular season, Bobrovsky has been ordinary at best in the first three games of a series against the defending Stanley Cup champions.

What the Blue Jackets probably didn't expect, however, was to have the Penguins bungle a few defensive-zone decisions, leading to more than a few scoring chances.

The first came on a Rust tip-in of a shot from inside the blue line by Brian Dumoulin at 5:21.

"I'm just trying to stay in front of the net".

Patriots star Rob Gronkowski crashes White House press briefing
Other members of the Patriots had made it clear they will skip Wednesday's visit over disagreements with President Trump. Quarterback Tom Brady did not attend the visit, citing "personal family matters" as the reason for his absence.

In the last two games especially, the Canadiens have done a good job of preventing the Rangers from using the up-tempo style they're best at, clamping down defensively and forcing NY to dump and chase.

Tom Kuhnhackl scored for the Penguins at 2:10 of the third to make it 4-3, but Jenner tapped in a shot by Saad at 5:37 for a 5-3 lead.

The 19-year-old Werenski returned to the game, because that's what hockey players do, sporting a full face shield. He didn't play in overtime because there was too much swelling around his right eye.

Columbus Blue Jackets defenceman Zach Werenski on a better day, during the regular National Hockey League season. The goal in OT helped clinch game 3 and a 3-0 lead in the series. "Now we'll figure out how to go about our business and try to manage the series here". He fell to the ice, as blood spilled onto the ice around him - there was eventually a trail to the Columbus bench.

The Oilers have found a new playoff hero in their first postseason trip since 2006. "They earned the win, and we didn't have the desperation that we needed to win the game". The Pens have scored a total of 13 goals from seven different players.

The Penguins scored a short-handed goal with the goalie pulled with 26.4 seconds left when Guentzel put a rebound past Bobrovsky for his fifth goal of the series.

Concerns still abound in Columbus, though - nearly as much as goals in San Jose on Tuesday night.
