Harry Redknapp Takes Birmingham Managerial Job

English Championship side Birmingham City have appointed Harry Redknapp as their new manager.

"Birmingham is a proper club". They are in a precarious position - we are only three points above the relegation zone and we have got the worst goal difference as well.

Redknapp said the appointment is until the end of the season but if the Blues avoid relegation then he and the club will talk again.

But the 70-year-old ex-West Ham and Tottenham boss got the gig despite being well out of the loop after missing the eight televised games Brum have played.

Harry Redknapp has said he faces "a big challenge" to keep Birmingham City in the Championship.

"It was something I thought "I'll have a go at that".

Gianfranco Zola took full responsibility for failing as Birmingham manager after resigning from his role following a 2-0 home loss to Burton.

White House seeks to fend off criticism over Carl Vinson's whereabouts
The US Navy announced on April 8 that the armada was travelling north as a "prudent measure" to deter North Korean military aggression.

Redknapp's most recent job was a short stint as manager of Jordan.

'I am sorry because I came to Birmingham with huge expectations.

Redknapp's brief does not now extend beyond securing Birmingham's second-tier survival but if he can achieve that aim, he could be convinced to remain in charge for a crack at promotion to the Premier League.

Redknapp has 34 years experience in club management and will be in charge of the matches against Aston Villa, Huddersfield and Bristol City.

There is one question we all want answered though: will Niko Kranjcar be a Blues player come this weekend? I'm not going to turn them into Real Madrid. "Birmingham are not a team I've seen much of because they've not been on TV much this year", he said.

"That will add something to all of their CVs, all of their thoughts when they're looking back".
