IPL 2017: Umesh Yadav likely to return for KKR vs KXIP

The Kolkata team is yet to play at home in this season of the IPL and one can see the team in action in today's match against the Kings XI Punjab.

Lynn, who has set the pace as far as accumulating runs is concerned this IPL by staying on top of the batting charts (125 runs in two matches), is down with a shoulder injury which might see him not take any further part in the T20 league. This has been third time Lynn's left shoulder has been injured in last two years.

Lynn underwent the injury while attempting to take a catch of Mumbai's Jos Buttler in the outfield.

Kolkata mentor Jacques Kallis wrote in his column for Times of India: "We are awaiting the results of the scans to Chris Lynn's shoulder which he dislocated on the field".

The Aussie had become IPL's latest batting sensation after his 41-ball 93 not out in a record 184-run opening stand with Gautam Gambhir (76 from 48) handed Gujarat Lions a 10- wicket rout in the opening match. In the side's next game, Lynn looked in fine touch during his 24-ball 32.

But the circumstances now have clearly changed and Kallis' news has definitely raised the hopes of the fans.

Umesh was the pick of the quick bowlers in the recently concluded India-Australia series, scalping 17 wickets in eight innings.

Broich 'preparing exactly the same' for Wanderers clash - Aloisi
He said: "They would love to keep him but can't because they'd have to get rid of two or three younger players which they don't want to do".

KKR threw away their previous encounter against Mumbai and at the forefront was poor death bowling.

If the Australian misses out, Gambhir may be prompted to include Bangladeshi allrounder Shakib Al Hasan in place of either Trent Boult or Chris Woakes.

The players will be clashing off against each other at the Eden Gardens.

The visitors have just won twice here, with their last win coming way back on April 15, 2012.

The game was very much in the bag for KKR with the flying start they got through Narine, who entertained the Eden crowd by slamming three sixes and four boundaries.
