Patriots Say New York Times' White House Photo is Misleading

The Patriots posted another photo to their Twitter account Wednesday showing Patriots staff and players who visited the White House Wednesday, among other personnel. Well, half of the Patriots did, anyway.

The Patriots were the first team to visit the White House after winning a championship.

The Patriots also pointed out CNN's fake news with a tweet of its own.

The whole situation certainly provokes the rising voices that say in ever louder tones that we need dump the politics, to stick to sports, and just play ball.

It all started a few hours after the Patriots celebration ended when the Times tweeted out a photo that showed the difference between the team's entourage in 2015 - when Barack Obama was president - and the size of the team's entourage in 2017 with Trump.

Now, as reported by Digg, Trump went on Fox And Friends yesterday and made some freakish comments that suggest that he doesn't realize that Kim Jong-Il and Kim Jong-Un are actually different people.

These photos lack context.

Egypt's Christians bury dead after IS church bombing
It killed 16 people and wounded at least 47 others, according to Sharif Wadih, an aide to the country's health minister. He said women were crying and looking for their loved ones and were yelling at police for "not protecting" them.

The thing is, it doesn't matter how many Patriots went to the White House on Wednesday.

The organization said 34 players visited the White House Wednesday. "I don't support the guy that's in the (White) House", he said.

Much was also made about President Trump's friend and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady skipping the event this year. But Brady also declined to attend 2015. Everybody has their free choice of who they wanted, but that's not a person I want to represent me even though he is. Trump said. Amendola later thanked the president for the "shout out" in a since-deleted tweet, and said he was attending a funeral.

Six other Patriots had announced they wouldn't attend the event for political reasons. "I'm very against it and I'd hate for my son, you know, to see me go to the White House and act like it's okay to do whatever you want if you're a celebrity", he said.

Trump has personal ties to the Patriots, as various media outlets have reported.

NYT Sports tweeted an update saying that the number of players on this year's roster was smaller than it had been in 2015 - 34 to 50 - but that the total delegation was roughly the same. "In that same year a very good friend of mine for over 25 years, a man who is mentally tough and hard-working as anybody I know launched a campaign for the presidency against 16 career politicians facing odds nearly as long as we faced in the fourth quarter. We're just privileged to be in a position to be going".
