Police Say Facebook Murder Suspect 'Shot And Killed Himself'

Ahead of an annual Facebook keynote Tuesday, the CEO of the company offered his condolences to the family of the man who was shot and killed by Steve Stephens, before the video was posted to the social media site on Easter Sunday.

Acting on a tip from the McDonald's, state troopers spotted Stephens leaving the restaurant in Erie and went after him, bumping his vehicle to try to get it to stop, authorities said.

The alert McDonald's drive-thru employee recognized Stephens while taking his order, and immediately dialed 911.

After the horrific Cleveland shooting of 74-year-old Robert Godwin was posted to Facebook, the video remained for almost two hours before the social media company took it down.

"Two seconds later, I hear these sirens, and they come whipping past me", she said. Stephens is seen in the footage of the murder telling Godwin a woman's name and saying, "She's the reason that this is about to happen to you". Don't go out here and do something stupid.

"But he just took his nuggets and said, 'I have to go, ' and he drove off", Henry Sayers, the restaurant's manager, told the New York Times.

Stephens is believed to have videotaped his actions and published it on Facebook, along with another video threatening to kill others and claiming he had already killed 13 people.

"Each one of us forgives the killer, the murderer", Godwin-Baines said Monday.

Some US companies that have left or scaled back in Venezuela
Protesters accuse Maduro of eroding democracy and mismanaging the country's increasingly cash-strapped economy. It's not the first time the Venezuelan government has seized a foreign corporation's facilities.

"He's an old dude", Stephens said as he approached Robert Godwin Sr, who was reportedly collecting aluminium cans.

The chief said the case started with one tragedy and ended with another. On Tuesday, news broke that Stephens had been found dead in Pennsylvania after a police pursuit.

"I$3 t forever will be in my mind because I saw the fear in my father's eyes". "These things can take two days, they can take two weeks, they can take two years".

Stephens didn't want to wait. "I wish it had gone down like that instead of him shooting himself".

"I can't talk to you right now".

A source close to Facebook says it has "thousands" of people reviewing content around the world.

Then the police chief had addressed Stephens directly: "Steve, if you're out there listening, call someone - whether it's a friend or family member or pastor - give them a call; they're waiting for you to call them".

Stephens was employed at Beech Brook, a behavioral health agency in northeastern OH that serves children, teenagers and families, according to a spokeswoman for the facility.
