Stephen Colbert bids farewell to Bill O'Reilly: "Stay strong, Papa Bear!"

United States television network Fox News on Wednesday removed one of its most popular hosts from the company following multiple allegations of sexual harassment and "inappropriate behaviour".

Lisa Bloom, who represents three women accusing O'Reilly of sexual harassment, called the announcement by Fox News a victory for victims who were fearless enough to come forward and hopes more will now do the same.

O'Reilly became embroiled in a similar scandal earlier this month.

Conservative megastar talk show host Bill O'Reilly has been dropped from the Fox News Channel lineup following an investigation into allegations of sexual harassment, 21st Century Fox said Wednesday. NPR's David Folkenflik reports that Walsh went through Fox News' formal complaint process, alleging O'Reilly made unwelcome advances during what she believed to be a business dinner.

Dr Walsh told TODAY Extra she was invited to fly to NY to meet the host after she had appeared as a guest on the O'Reilly Factor from a Los Angeles studio. Its leading female star, Megyn Kelly, decamped for NBC in January.

Carlson's current 9 p.m. slot will be filled by the panel talk show "The Five", which will be replaced at 5 p.m. with a new show hosted by Eric Bolling, now a co-host of "The Five" and a frequent fill-in host on "The Factor". The company is making "a pretty big statement" to that effect by dropping O'Reilly, said Hall, the American University professor. According to ad-tracking firm Kantar Media, it brought in $147.13 million in advertising revenue in 2016.

The TPP's demise leaves an alternative pact as the main avenue for boosting trade among the fast-growing economies. The 30th ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings will be held in Manila from April 26 to 29 this year.

The New York Times reported on April 1 that Fox and O'Reilly paid five women a total of $13 million to settle harassment claims.

As to what his departure means for the future of Fox News, Binning said he's not sure. "But you have to put some spine back into the Murdoch family and the Fox News Channel board because you are about to lose Bill O'Reilly". "When we look at data, at what programs people report watching, you just don't find people who watch Bill O'Reilly and nothing else on Fox", Cassino said. The show has continued to pull in a large viewership - averaging 3.2 million Nielsen prime-time viewers per night, the highest cable news program.

He commented on the issue Wednesday, calling it "tremendously disheartening" and labeling the claims "completely unfounded", according to the Washington Post. O'Reilly really was "the biggest figure in the history of cable news", Noah said. Perino will anchor the show on April 19 and 20, and Gutfeld will host the show's final episode on April 21, ending The Factor's 21-year-long run.

Since then, more than 50 advertisers had abandoned his show, and women's rights groups had called for his ouster.

"Looking back on all of O'Reilly's greatest hits, the one thing that's hard to believe is that it took this long for him to lose his job".
