US envoy Nikki Haley says al-Assad must be ousted

The Trump administration had seemed ambivalent over whether it would push for regime change in Syria.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson seemed to take a more patient stance in regard to Assad, saying on Saturday that Washington's first priority is the defeat of Islamic State. "That really hasn't changed".

Trump launched the strike in response to what the US government believes was a Syrian led chemical weapons attack on a northwestern Syrian town that killed dozens of civilians, including children.

President Donald Trump's national security adviser today left open the possibility of additional US military action against Syria following last week's missile strike but indicated that the United States was not seeking to act unilaterally to oust Syrian President Bashar Assad.

In an interview to air Sunday on CBS' "Face the Nation", Tillerson said Russians were not targeted by the strikes. Whether this turns out to be anything more than a symbolic victory, and whether it has an effect in the fight against terrorism and the effort to rein in North Korea, will depend on what he and his administration do next.

"If you violate global agreements, if you fail to live up to commitments, if you become a threat to others, at some point a response is likely to be undertaken", he told ABC's "This Week". "We strongly condemn the illegitimate actions by the US The consequences of this for regional and worldwide stability could be extremely serious", Russia's deputy UN envoy, Vladimir Safronkov, told a meeting of the UN Security Council on Friday.

Tillerson said he sees no reason for retaliation from Russian Federation for the USA missile strikes. He did not rule out additional strikes if Assad continued to engage in atrocities against rebel forces with either chemical or conventional weapons.

We tried everything until the end and kept fighting to create chances but none of them went in. However, the score remained goalless as the sides entered the halftime break.

US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said nothing "is off the table" when it comes to imposing tougher sanctions on Russian Federation and Iran in an interview that aired Sunday on CNN. Secondly, we don't see a peaceful Syria with Assad in there.

"We will take Mosul", McCain said. "The president will make whatever decision he thinks is in the best interests of the American people". "What you have in Syria is a very destructive cycle of violence perpetuated by ISIS, obviously, but also by this regime and their Iranian and Russian sponsors". The Syrian government has denied it was behind the assault.

"It is required", he said. USA officials claim that the Khan Shaykhun chemical assault had been launched from the military site. "They deserve the support of Congress on a bipartisan basis". "We will react firmly to any aggression against Syria and to any infringement of red lines, whoever carries them out", read a statement from the Syria-based joint operations room.

Maryland Sen. Ben Cardin, the top Democrat on the Foreign Relations Committee, told Fox on Sunday that no congressional authority exists for going against Assad, so there is no authority to use force.

'If the great powers engaged in this conflict, the local and regional powers work together, then peace can be found, ' he said.

Pressed by Fox host Chris Wallace pointed explain Tillerson's statements that destroying ISIS is the USA priority, McMaster responded: "That's exactly what we're saying".

Putin considers the USA strike as an "aggression against a sovereign state in violation of worldwide norms", according to Russian agencies.
