LA Clippers Beat Jazz 99-91; Even Series At 1-1

NBA Playoffs 2017 Chris Paul wouldn't let the Clippers slip up in Game 2More

Game 2 was very much the same statistically, but it's all too obvious that his knee is still bothering him. The Clippers were able to weather every run that Utah made and the heady play of their point guard is a big reason why. However, they got down by eight pretty much right off the bat and despite pulling closer a couple of times, for the most part it stayed that way for the entire contest. On the night, the Clippers outscored the Jazz 60-38 on points in the paint. Favors had 15 points and six rebounds and helped fill in for the injured Rudy Gobert, who went down in the opening minute of play.

Joe Johnson led the team in game-1 with 21 points while Gordon Hayward had 10 rebounds.

Only Joe Ingles, who was 2 of 3 on 3-pointers, shot particulary well in Game 2. "We can't go back and fix it so we just got to go with it and worry about Game 3". Jamal Crawford, JJ Redick, and Luc Mbah a Moute struggled again offensively combining for only 18. Over these past two games, he's averaging 25 points and shooting 48 percent from the field. Nevertheless, the fact remains that Utah's All-Star needs to play as such.

A recurring theme for the Utah Jazz in games against the Los Angeles Clippers this season has been slow starts.

The Big Three of Griffin, Jordan and Paul combined on 10-of-13 shooting and six rebounds in the first, when the Clippers shot 65 percent.

In the meantime, though, the Jazz have to be better.

USA desires European Union to remain strong
Trump favors bilateral trade deals and has used trade as a tool for pressuring countries to do more on national security matters. Trudeau said the upcoming summit and a broad range of global issues would form part of his talks with Gentiloni.

Meanwhile, Utah's role players were less than phenomenal overall in Game 2.

Favors tallied 13 points and seven rebounds for the Jazz, but his night was defined more by the points he allowed to be scored.

This continues to be a well-matched series and the Jazz continue to hold home court advantage after stealing Game 1. Not exactly ideal for a guy once considered Utah's third best scoring option. The Jazz don't impress many with their roster, but they play hard and win a lot of games they shouldn't. If they went down 0-2 they would be all but finished in this series.

Afterwards, Paul warned a hostile environment for Game 3 on Friday in Utah, calling the Jazz's passionate fanbase "homers".

The question: If you're a team looking at both players - and yes, Griffin is a power forward, while Hayward is a small forward - which player are you targeting more? Several Jazz fans did. "Had we won that game, we still would have needed to do things better". While the Clippers couldn't capitalize on the missing Rudy Gobert in Game 1, it's all they did in Game 2. He is still recovering from hyperextending his knee on the first possession of the series opener, and it could take a while before he is game-ready again.

Going into the second half, the Jazz adjusted to the Clippers' change of pace and continued to stick around before cutting the lead to three on a bucket from forward Derrick Favors.
