I Would Have Fired Comey Without Rosenstein's Letter

The White House claimed Wednesday that Trump's confidence in ousted FBI Director James Comey had eroded over the last "several months".

The FBI is presently investigating potential Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

To no one's surprise, Donald Trump, 70, went on an angry tirade while sitting down for an interview with Lester Holt, 58, on NBC Nightly News on May 11. "The FBI has been in turmoil. You know that, I know that, everybody knows that". Trump said that he had been planning to fire the former FBI Director regardless of the guidance from Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. That was not included in the memo dated Tuesday in which Rosenstein outlined his recommendation to fire Comey.

"My White House Counsel Don McGahn came back to me and it did not sound like an emergency", Trump said.

Moments later, however, Trump said he wanted the investigation "done properly", and that Comey was "the wrong man" to do it.

The Times reported that Comey was wary of accepting Mr. Trump's dinner invitation because he wished to avoid seeming too "chummy" with him, especially because of the ongoing Russian Federation probe.

"I can not defend the Director's handling of the conclusion of the investigation of Secretary Clinton's emails, and I do not understand his refusal to accept the almost universal judgment that he was mistaken", Rosenstein wrote. I have the highest respect for his considerable abilities and his integrity. "And it has been the greatest privilege and honour of my professional life to work with him".

Comey was sacked the next day, which was dominated by bad headlines for Trump on why Flynn was kept on for 18 days after Sally Yates, the former acting attorney general, told White House counsel Don McGahn that Flynn had been compromised.

McCabe vowed no letup in the investigation.

There was a hint from day one that Comey's firing had something to do with the Russian Federation investigation.

"When I did this now I said, 'I probably, maybe will confuse people, maybe I'll expand that, you know, lengthen the time, ' because it should be over with, in my opinion, should have been over with a long time ago, 'cause all it is, is an excuse, " he said.

UCL: Real Madrid beat Atletico to set up Juventus final
Originally, the clash between Juventus and Lazio was set to take place on Friday June 3. "Nobody said it was going to be easy". They took the lead on 12 minutes through Saul Niguez before Griezmann doubled their lead from the spot four minutes later.

But he said he never asked Comey to shut down the investigation and wants it seen through to the end, but by someone "competent" at the FBI. "We had a very nice dinner".

"If it's possible, will you let me know, am I under investigation?" Trump dismissed Comey on Tuesday.

McCabe testified it was not typical practise to tell people they were not a targets of an investigation.

The White House had a Trump bodyguard deliver a copy of Trump's dismissal letter to the Justice Department and sent Comey an email as well, according to a senior administration official.

USA intelligence agencies concluded that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an effort to disrupt the election that included hacking into Democratic Party emails and leaking them, with the aim of helping Trump.

Leaders of the U.S. intelligence agencies, including director of national intelligence Dan Coats and CIA chief Mike Pompeo, on Thursday testified that they agreed with that finding.

And the "wild speculation" coming from both congressional Democrats and their media allies that President Trump is under criminal investigation does just that.

The FBI investigation was looking into possible collusion between Trump election campaign officials and Moscow. "We think that we've actually, by removing Director Comey, taken steps to make that happen".

Responding to Trump's latest comments about Comey, Burr and Warner praised the ousted Federal Bureau of Investigation chief's integrity.

"I have nothing to do- this was set up by the Democrats", Trump said.
