Ant and Dec confirm SMTV Live reunion at TV Baftas

Ant Dec and Cat

Ant and Dec presented the shows alongside Deeley for three years, resulting in it becoming the most popular ITV Saturday morning show.

Presenting duo Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly confirmed that they'll be joining Cat Deeley for the reunion episode at the TV Baftas on Sunday night.

Ant and Dec hosted "SM:TV Live" from its launch in 1998, until they quit in 2001, while Cat continued to front it with Tess Daly and Brian Dowling until she left in 2002.

After a run of 279 episodes it was finally axed in December 2003.

British national treasures Ant and Dec have confirmed that their iconic Saturday Morning show SMTV will return next August for a huge comeback. They are on board now.

Speaking to Radio Times Donnelly said: "We've had first discussions about it and it looks like it's going to go ahead".

"We can't say too much but we're getting the team back together!"

Ant and Dec had also previously told Metro.co.uk at the launch of the new series of Saturday Night Takeaway that they had been "talking to somebody about [a reunion] recently because it's twenty years since the launch of SM:TV next year".

"So, we were saying whether we could do an anniversary special or something, and we got carried away with the idea".

However, the presenters are yet to confirm whether the show's classic skits like Chums (the trio's spoof version of Friends), rhyming words gameshow Wonkey Donky and viewer competition Challenge Ant, will return for the special.
