A Member Of Congress Is Officially Calling For Trump's Impeachment, Here's Why

Democratic Rep. Al Green, of Texas, called for the impeachment of President Donald Trump on Monday, marking the most explicit call yet by a member of Congress to start the process of ousting the president.

"I rise today, Mister Speaker, to call for the impeachment of the president of the United States of America for obstruction of justice".

A bedrock premise upon which respect for, and obedience to, our societal norms is "No one is above the law".

Asked what he thinks of the Trump presidency, Putin said it's up to the American people to judge and his performance can be rated "only when he's allowed to work at full capacity", implying that someone is hampering Trump's efforts. This is where I stand, I will not be moved.

Mr Ryan said Congress needs to get the facts, but "it is obvious there are some people out there who want to harm the president". The House of Representatives can not find the President guilty of anything.

"President Trump has committed an act for which he should be charged by the U.S. House of Representatives".

Trump being impeached is now a realistic possibility
Gergen wasn't the only moderate voice to suggest that a plausible case for Trump's removal was emerging. Just 41 percent of those surveyed oppose the idea of impeaching the president, the release noted.

According to the memo, details of which were first revealed by The New York Times, Trump told the then-FBI chief, "I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go". "But everybody merits a fair trail", he was quoted as saying. Regarding Clinton's sexual relationship with Monica Lewinsky, a former White House intern, the proceedings stated: "President Clinton lied under oath in his civil deposition about his discussions with Ms. Lewinsky concerning her involvement in the Jones case".

He also urged the lawmakers to be sober. We have an obligation to carry out our oversight, regardless of which party is in the White House. "I've said that we need the information, we need to connect the dots, we need the facts in order to do the impeachment". "Arguably he's already obstructed justice and already violated the emoluments clause [regarding receiving gifts from foreign governments]".

"While the President has repeatedly expressed his view that General Flynn is a decent man who served and protected our country, the President has never asked Comey or anyone else to end any investigation, including any investigation involving General Flynn", it said.

As for Comey, whom Trump fired last week, the FBI director wrote in a memo after a February meeting at the White House that the new president had asked him to shut down the FBI's investigation of Flynn and his Russian contacts, said a person who had read the memo.

After firing Comey, the White House hurried to explain Trumps' actions.

"There is an FBI investigation going on right now with all things related to Russian Federation, done by the career professionals at the FBI who are going to continue to be career professionals".
