After Special Counsel Named, Trump Reacts: 'Greatest Witch Hunt' In Political History

'It is obvious there are some people out there who want to harm the president. "The president's remarks should not intimidate the press but inspire it".

President Donald Trump poses for a photo with U.S. Coast Guard Academy graduate Brendan Ryan Sullivan during commencement exercises at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn., Wednesday. "I hope you can let this go". Of course he didn't mention the infamous "wall" which hasn't been built, imposing a travel ban which itself was immediately banned after causing global chaos, voting to pass a healthcare bill that will remove 24 million people's health insurance and handing significant tax breaks to the US's biggest corporations.

The Department of Justice has appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller as Special Counsel to head the Russian Federation investigation.

The morning after former FBI Director Robert Mueller was named special counsel to oversee the investigation into the Trump team ties to Russia, President Trump is declaring "this" the "single greatest witch hunt of a politician in American history!"

Mr Trump's appearance at the academy came the day after reports that he had personally appealed to Mr Comey to abandon the FBI's investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

He says they instead chose a "very noble mission". "This will go down as one of the most inept and counterproductive efforts of damage control that we've ever seen in public life". Trump pushed back defiantly against news reports that have dogged the White House for the past week.

After saluting the work and service of the U.S. Coast Guard, Trump turned to complain that he was being persecuted by the media.

Twitter is down for some users
Website users have been disproportionately affected while fewer reports of issues have been submitted for the mobile application. The issue first surfaced when Twitter said that a section of users were facing difficulties in sending tweets .

But there was nothing regular about the day, and there may not be anything regular about numerous days to come. "The people understand what I'm doing - that's the most important thing".

However, Mr Putin said Mr Trump did not pass over secrets and dismissed the scandal as "political schizophrenia". That's according to a memo Comey wrote about the encounter, first reported by The New York Times and later confirmed to NPR by two sources close to Comey.

The Trump circus roars on with no sign of it dying down.

That's the part Trump seems to have missed.

Looking overseas, two guys who Trump may have heard of, Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela, would have something to say about this "treated unfairly" business. When a White House spokesman makes a point of attributing everything to the president rather than making assertions in his own voice, it suggests a trepidation about vouching for accounts that may eventually be contradicted by the president himself.

Trump met last week with Russian officials just one day after he fired Comey, and on Monday, The Washington Post and other news organizations reported that the president had revealed "highly classified information" to them reportedly from Israel, a key USA ally. And he still repeatedly threatens to do away with the White House daily briefing. And whether he knew it or not, Trump echoed Clinton's approach, that he was focused on his day job. John A. Farrell, who just published a new biography, "Richard Nixon: The Life", said this was what the White House could look forward to: "Anger. Rumors fly that so-and-so has lawyered up, or is talking to the prosecutors".
