'American Idol': The Show That Won't Stay Canceled

There's still no word on who will host and judge, and ABC is now saying that will be announced at a later time.

"American Idol" was previously on Fox, dominating the ratings for much of its 15 seasons from 2002 to 2016.

ABC confirmed Tuesday that it is bringing "American Idol" back in 2018, just two years after it ended a 15-season run on Fox.

Now that the American Idol reboot is set to land at ABC, the chances of Ryan Seacrest returning as host seem even greater as he is already working for the network!

"American Idol" on ABC.that has a nice ring to it", said Sherwood said in a news release.

"ABC's passion and enthusiasm make them a flawless home for American Idol", said Cecile Frot-Coutaz, CEO, FremantleMedia Group. "We are thrilled viewers will once again share in these inspiring stories of people realising their dreams".

Venezuela opposition leader blocked from traveling to UN
In March, the Venezuelan Supreme Court temporarily dissolved the National Assembly and assumed the powers of the legislature . The U.S. move marks the second round of sanctions Trump has imposed on high-level Venezuelan officials since taking office.

No new judges or changes to the show have been announced yet. Other performers who used the series as a launching pad include Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Katharine McPhee, Adam Lambert and Chris Daughtry.

FreemantleMedia North America and Core Media Group's 19 Entertainment are producing the new version of "Idol".

Since "Idol" left the air, NBC's "The Voice" has more than filled the reality show musical void.

The farewell season premiered in January 2016 and wrapped up April 7 with singer Trent Harmon declared the final victor.

Seacrest addressed the rumors of the show's return on the show Monday, saying he didn't know until last week that "American Idol" was possibly being revived on ABC. Stay tuned for more announcements as they're made available.

Seacrest has a new gig, of course - with Kelly Ripa on "Live" - but he says he's interested in the old one. "The fans want the show to come back and they want it with Ryan". Image via knockknocklive.com "Idol fans no doubt hope Ryan Seacrest will return as host".
