Clinton aide tweets joking video of her practicing avoiding a hug

Apparently, James Comey is not the only one who wanted to avoid any awkward hugs with Donald Trump.

Reines, who worked for Clinton when she was secretary of state under President Barack Obama, wrote in the tweet: "Not easy to avoid the unwanted Trump hug, sometimes it even takes practice ... A favorite moment from debate prep (9/24/16)". She tries to give him a high-five instead and he jokingly chases after and hugs her anyway as the Clinton staff laughs behind the camera.

"I think everyone can understand why she was not eager to find herself in his embrace", Clinton's campaign communications chief, Jennifer Palmieri, told CNBC.

Well, now, thanks to some great behind-the-scenes video, we know that was also on the minds of the Clinton campaign.

Macron to unveil first French government
Among the non-politicians to be offered roles is well-known environmentalist Nicolas Hulot, a source in the presidency said. Juppe said he would be backing LR lawmakers in the mid-June elections, and not Macron's candidates.

Benjamin Wittes, editor-in-chief of Lawfare and a friend of Comey's who provided the Times with details of the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director's thinking, provided more details in his own recounting of Comey's thoughts on "the hug".

In that article, the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director's friend Benjamin Wittes relayed, "Comey said that as he was walking across the room he was determined that there wasn't going to be a hug. Bad enough that he was there; bad enough that there would be a handshake; he emphatically did not want any show of warmth", he wrote. Wittes related two instances he said Comey described to him when Trump attempted "personally to compromise him or implicate him with either shows of closeness or actual chumminess with the President".

Comey's efforts failed when Trump finally noticed him and pulled him in for an uncomfortable embrace. In the video, Clinton can be seen dodging an attempt at a hug from "Trump".
