'No, no. Next question': Trump rejects collusion & Comey's claims

A majority of Americans believe that President Trump fired FBI Director James Comey to hinder the investigation into possible ties between Trump's campaign and Russian Federation, according to a poll released Thursday. Mueller on Wednesday evening was appointed by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein as special counsel to oversee the Justice Department's investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the US presidential election and related issues.

In a reported memo, Comey allegedly says Trump asked him to let the probe into Flynn go.

"Well, I respect the move, but the entire thing has been a witch hunt", Trump said, echoing a tweet he sent out earlier on Thursday. "I think it divides the country".

Robert Mueller, Comey's predecessor at FBI from 2001-2013, has a lengthy, close and somewhat controversial history with the man suddenly at the center of investigations swirling around Trump.

"That's what I want to be focused on, because there's no collusion".

Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., said after an all-senators briefing from Rosenstein that the deputy attorney general already knew Comey would be fired before he wrote a memo that the Trump administration initially used as justification for ousting the Federal Bureau of Investigation chief. "Zero", Trump said, adding, "My total priority, believe me, is the United States of America".

Ross Barkley: Everton boss Ronald Koeman not confident midfielder will stay
Either he accepts the contract or we sell the player. I don't know if he won't give an answer. But that is what we work on to improve.

The president's comments come as he deals with backlash from firing Comey last week and subsequent reports that raised questions about whether he might have tried to interfere with an investigation.

Mr. Trump called his meeting with Santos "productive", as he said future meetings will be.

"Even my enemies have said there is no collusion", he continued. "We have to get back to running this country really, really well". Weeks later, veteran investigative journalist Michael Isikoff is now reporting at Yahoo News, Flynn told associates that he had recently received a message from the president to "stay strong".

"In the light of a very busy news week, a lot of people would like to get to the bottom of a couple of things - give you a chance to go on record here".

The FBI's reputation, he said, had been damaged during the presidential campaign, given "what happened with respect to the Clinton campaign".
