Anthony Weiner pleads guilty, cries while apologizing in court

Weiner and Abedin, a longtime aide to Hillary Clinton, have been married for almost 7 years.

Anthony Weiner, the disgraced former NY congressman and estranged husband of top Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin, tearfully admitted Friday to a federal judge that he sent obscene material to a 15-year-old high school student in North Carolina, the same day Abedin filed for divorce from him. He agreed to not appeal any sentence between 21 and 27 months in prison. He is barred from contacting the girl.

The disgraced politician pleaded guilty in federal court to sexting a 15-year-old girl. He admitted to exchanging explicit photos and messages with women.

"After I told my teacher about the relationship, [Weiner] wanted me to email my dad and my teacher and tell them that what I said was false", she said. Weiner, who cried and apologized in court, surrendered to the FBI following its investigation. He said Friday that he has apologized to the girl and has entered "intensive treatment" in the process of understanding the "depths of my sickness". I am committed to making amends to all those I have harmed. The US attorney's office in Manhattan confirmed the court appearance but declined to release additional details about the charges against the Democrat.

Wearing a navy suit, maroon tie and his wedding band, a tearful Weiner, 52, described his conduct before U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska in New York City.

During an investigation, FBI officials found emails on Weiner's laptop from his ex-wife, Abedin, who was a top aide to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

The former rising star in the Democratic Party saw his career as a USA congressman come to a halt in June 2011. At first, he claimed that his account had been compromised, but then he confessed that he was trying to send the picture to a mistress.

This is not the first time Weiner is embarrassing those around him.

OPEC and other producers made a decision to reduce oil supplies by 1.8 million barrels per day for the first half of this year. It seems that the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries ( OPEC ) may be losing control of oil prices worldwide.

He tried to revive his political career in 2013 by running for mayor of NY. But in July of that year a gossip website published sexually explicit online chats he had with a woman the previous summer.

Former congressman Anthony Weiner is facing a jail term after admitting exchanging sexually explicit content with a 15-year-old girl. His young son was sleeping beside him. The New York Post reports that the filing is uncontested.

Last September, the girl anonymously shared her story with British tabloid The Daily Mail.

Citing the newly discovered Weiner emails, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said last October that it was reopening its probe into the security of Clinton's emails during her time as secretary of state, but it closed the probe again in November without taking any prosecutorial action.

"I only worry for the country in that Hillary Clinton was careless and negligent in allowing Weiner to have such close proximity to highly classified information", Donald Trump told his supporters, per the Times.

Abedin separated from Weiner past year after he included a picture of their son in a sext.

"These destructive impulses brought great devastation to family and friends, and destroyed my life's dream of public service", Weiner said. "I remained in denial even as the world around me fell apart".
