Hearse stolen from McDonald's, body dumped by the side of the road

Police said a passerby found a gurney with a body a few hours later in the 6000 block of Dick Elliott Rd in Brazos County.

The suspects were identified as Adam Crow, 27, and Tanya Albrecht, 28.

A body was dumped on the side of a Brazos County road Friday morning amid the theft of a hearse, according to KXAN. Albrecht is also facing a charge of "abuse of a corpse".

Sergeant Jason James with Bryan police says they got a call from a truck driver who saw a stretcher with a deceased person on it in a ditch. The body was being delivered from the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office to Daniel and Son Funeral Home in Bryan before the hearse, a tan Chevrolet Suburban, was stolen.

"This is a very rare, one-time situation here", Drew Stackhouse, brother of the mortuary's owner told the local newspaper. The body was brought back to the funeral home.

Brazos County Chief Deputy Jim Stewart tweeted a photo from the scene just before 8 a.m.
