Roger Ailes Had Strong Roots In Native Ohio, Friends Say

Fox Founder and Ex-chairman Roger Ailes has died

Mr Ailes is credited with transforming television news and America's political conversation by creating and ruling the Fox News Channel for two decades before being ousted previous year for alleged sexual harassment. He developed blood clots from a fall he took in his $36 million Palm Beach mansion.

The Ohio-born television pioneer was a confidante of presidents and an acknowledged master of communications.

"Roger Ailes was a genius at politics and the news media". From Muhammad Ali to John Lennon, the Douglas show featured guests who could draw viewers, regardless of what Ailes may have thought of their politics. "He wasn't flawless, but Roger Ailes was my friend & I loved him. He was also a patriot, profoundly grateful to live in a country that gave him so much opportunity to work hard, to rise-and to give back".

On the event of his death, his wife, Elizabeth Ailes, will likely inherit the property in Florida, on the condition that that there is no existing pre-nuptial agreement barring her from the same. The Left would command a monopoly control of the so-called "news" media but for the Fox News Channel, and FNC would not exist but for him.

"With Ailes" death, the women suing Fox News and other executives can't depose him to elicit new information, Colin Miller, professor of law and associate dean of faculty development at the University of South Carolina School of Law, said.

I dealt with his right-wing lieutenants plenty, but only met Ailes once, at a Fox News "Holiday Party".

"From my perspective as a broadcaster, his biggest influence was blurring those lines of entertainment and news", said Scott Sands, senior vice president of programming for I Heart Radio's cluster of Toledo stations and afternoon host on WSPD-AM 1370 and FM 92.9.

Sevilla's Sampaoli says could not snub 'dream' Argentina job
Argentina are now fifth in the 10-team South America zone World Cup qualifying standings with four games remaining. He denied that he had selected an Argentina squad. "I'm not going to leave Sevilla for another club".

"Roger Ailes experienced that hatred, and it killed him", O'Reilly stressed, adding that, despite that being true, Ailes would never want to be remembered that way.

"At 21st Century Fox we will always be enormously grateful for the great business he built". Ailes is also survived his son, Zachary.

Ryssdal: When you watch Fox news today, what do you see?

"He has dramatically and forever changed the political and the media landscape singlehandedly for the better".

Nixon, whose run for the White House had been dealt a blow eight years earlier in a televised debate against his camera-ready rival John F. Kennedy, was a challenge Ailes eagerly accepted at a moment when, as he realized better than most, TV could make or break a candidate.

But it turned out that according to the accusations of, you know, a score of women that he had been a serial sexual harasser and that he had used his authority and his nearly complete power at Fox News to essentially solicit romantic or sexual partners to see what he could get away with and when things went south to use the Fox News dollars to make the issue go away and to pay women off.

Consultant Ed Rollins recalled hiring Ailes to head media for then-President Ronald Reaganˋs reelection campaign in 1984. Four years later, he was a key player in the successful presidential campaign of George H.W. Bush, helping to plot effective messaging and television advertising strategies. Murdoch had a vision serving conservative viewers and launched Fox News in 1996.
