Saudis are literally counting down the seconds until Trump arrives

President Donald Trump's maiden global trip, a five-stop marathon across the Middle East and Europe, has long loomed as a crucial first test overseas for the chaos-courting president.

But the USA embassy in Khartoum said on Wednesday that it opposed "invitations, facilitation or support for travel by any person subject to outstanding International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrants, including President Bashir".

The president was already under attack for firing Comey in the midst of an Federal Bureau of Investigation probe into Russia's role in the 2016 election and possible collusion with Trump campaign members.

Preparation - a standard part of the weeks before a big foreign trip - also has been hit-or-miss in recent days.

The national security adviser, who publicly defended Trump this week, has a lot riding on the trip himself.

But leaving the United States for a week might be just what's needed to turn the news wheel again, and to allow an embattled White House a reprieve after the latest round of controversy. It's been more than a half-century since any president waited as long to take his first foreign trip.

His daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner - two of his closest advisors - will also be on board Air Force One. And there are likely to be more developments back in Washington even as he's overseas.

But the real estate magnate will still need to explain to foreign partners how his favorite slogan - "America First" - can be compatible with multilateralism.

"Saudi Arabia is delighted at being the No. 1 (stop for Trump's visit), delighted by the re-emergence of a strong diplomatic relationship with the United States and delighted by the opportunity to show off Saudi leadership of the Arab and the Muslim world by getting everybody to turn up in Riyadh for multiple, overlapping summits", said Simon Henderson, director of the Gulf and Energy Policy Program at The Washington Institute.

Journalist 'manhandled' by FCC security guards
According to the statement , CQ Roll Call reporter John Donnelly questioned FCC commissioners after a press conference. From behind the two security guards, Donnelly began asking O'Rielly a question anyway.

Catchphrases aside, many questions remain unanswered.

Saudi Arabia confirmed on Thursday that it would sign commercial and political deals with the USA during President Donald Trump's visit to Riyadh next week, Al Arabiya local news reported. Gulf leaders had the view that Obama chose to prioritise the 2015 Iran nuclear deal instead of a US-Gulf alliance.

But uproar in Washington threatened to cast a long shadow, after Comey's firing, allegations Trump had previously pressed the Federal Bureau of Investigation chief to stop investigating former national security adviser Michael Flynn, and the subsequent appointment of a special counsel to look into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 election and possible ties to Trump's campaign. There is even an upcoming Syrian sketch due to air during Ramadan about the Trumps with a Syrian actor playing Donald and a Lebanese actress playing Melania.

Among the touchy issues in Israel: whether to move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, something the president has decided not to announce during the trip.

The foreign trip comes amid tumult for the White House after a series of damaging reports, culminating with the appointment of a special counsel to probe ties between Russian Federation and President Donald Trump's campaign and associates. It was "a moment of unparalleled cooperation between two great nations", Bush said.

In an interview with CNN's Becky Anderson, the 92-year-old former occupant of the Oval Office urged Trump to put "peace and human rights" at the "forefront of all his discussions with foreign leaders".

After the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation meeting on May 25, Trump is due to meet with other leaders of the G7 - a group of economic powers that comprises the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Canada, and Japan- at a gathering in Sicily on May 26-27.

President Trump has a meeting with leaders of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, which the president has criticized.

And with this President the trip itself could throw up its own surprises.
