Manchester bomber likely did not act alone, official says

Police officers stand on duty following a raid at Granby House close to Manchester Piccadilly railway station in Manchester

MANCHESTER, England, May 25 British Prime Minister Theresa May will raise concerns with Donald Trump on Thursday about USA leaks of intelligence on the suicide bombing in Manchester that police fear could hinder a hunt for a possible bomb-maker still at large.

The attacker has been identified as 22-year-old Salman Abedi. Hashmem Abedi was detained on Tuesday evening, said spokesman of Rada Hashem Abedi.

The 23-year-old tweeted: "broken. from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. i don't have words".

But British ministers and security chiefs have been dismayed by leaks in the US media which made public details about the British investigation.

The head of Greater Manchester Police Chief Constable Ian Hopkins told reporters: "I think it's very clear that this is a network that we are investigating", told reporters.

Abedi was reported to be a former business student who dropped out of university and turned to radical Islam. "This is not us", he told TIME from Tripoli Wednesday.

The woman being held was arrested by police in Blackley, an area north of Manchester city centre on Wednesday.

He said the police surrounded the property in question, that officers "did something" and said "the next thing the door blew off the house".

Manchester United Dedicate Europa League Win to Victims of Arena Bombing
Paul Pogba feels Manchester United have silenced their critics after beating Ajax 2-0 in Wednesday's Europa League final. Three trophies in season [he includes the Community Shield].

We now know 22 people lost their lives, with the youngest victim being an 8-year-old girl, and 50 were injured.

The terror threat level in Britain has been raised to "critical", as Prime Minister Theresa May warned that another attack "may be imminent".

'The priority remains to establish whether he was acting alone or as part of a network'.

Islamic State, now being driven from territories in Syria and Iraq by Western-backed armed forces, claimed responsibility for the Manchester attack, but there were contradictions in its accounts of the action and a telling lack of detail.

In London, police and security are being boosted, the Metropolitan Police Service announced Wednesday.

"We will do all we can to protect the capital that we serve at this unsettling time", said Commander Jane Connors, who leads the London policing operation.

Words can not express our sorrow for the victims and families harmed in this senseless attack. "All our work is created to make our city as hostile an environment as possible for terrorists to plan and operate".

"This tactic uses teams of specialist police officers who have been trained to spot the telltale signs that a person may be carrying out hostile reconnaissance or committing other crime".
