How does Donald Trump solve a problem like Jared Kushner?

Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) said Tuesday that senior adviser to the President Jared Kushner had engaged in a "serious breach" of protocol when he reportedly sought to set up a communications backchannel with the Russian government using Russian facilities.

Echoing President Trump's tweets, a White House spokesman blasted "fake news" about the Administration and declined to answer questions about recent reports on Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. "He is respected by virtually everyone and is working on programs that will save our country billions of dollars", he said. This New York Times story, for instance, portrays him as aloof, as avoiding the nitty-gritty of government, as possessing poor political judgment-he thought Trump would win applause for firing Jim Comey-and even suggests the president is annoyed with him.

Kushner led three meetings in the West Wing on Tuesday - and never once acknowledged the stories about him that have dominated cable news since last week, when it was reported that during the campaign he discussed setting up a secret communications back channel to Moscow.

President Trump is on the verge of making significant changes to his communications team as senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner faces scrutiny for allegedly trying to establish back-channel communications with Moscow. Some foreign affairs experts said the move, while former president Barack Obama had weeks left in his term, anxious them that it could undermine USA security and some opposition Democrats have suggested that Kushner's security clearance should be revoked. She refused to confirm Fox News' report about Kislyak actually being the one who sought the back channel. "The proper line (from Kushner was) simply (to say), 'Happy to hear what you have to say to us, but we have one president at a time.' I was on (the Mitt Romney) team (in 2012) and that was our plan". In a Washington Post report published Monday night, CIA Director Mike Pompeo and Director of National Intelligence Daniel Coats offer some insight into how President Trump likes his daily intelligence updates.

Kushner's lawyer has said that he is willing to cooperate with congressional probes of Trump campaign links to Russian officials.

We also know that Kushner did not initially disclose contacts with Russian officials.

In a response to the media reports, Jamie Gorelick told the New York Times his client submitted the questionnaire prematurely on January 18 - and that the next day Kushner's office told the Federal Bureau of Investigation he would provide supplemental information.

Freddie Roach wants Pacquiao-Mayweather 2
Talks about a McGregor fight swirled even as Pacquiao and Roach welcomed the arrival of a new sparmate from Mexico: Adrian Young. Arum told TMZ Sports on Sunday that McGregor should consider Pacquiao as an opponent if Mayweather were to back out.

"No", McMaster said. "We have back-channel communications with a number of countries".

That might have a bigger impact on White House operations than they realize.

"It is my opinion that numerous leaks coming out of the White House are fabricated lies made up by the #FakeNews media", Trump said.

Earlier in the morning, Trump also tweeted about the USA trade deficit with Germany, writing: "We have a MASSIVE trade deficit with Germany, plus they pay FAR LESS than they should on North Atlantic Treaty Organisation & military".

Flynn attended the meeting at Trump Tower with Kislyak.

Kelly appeared on "Fox News Sunday", NBC's "Meet the Press" and ABC's "This Week", Schiff also spoke on ABC, and Booker was on CNN's "State of the Union". "We are and remain close partners", she said of the USA and Germany, "but we also know that we Europeans really must take our destiny into our own hands".
