House intelligence committee subpoenas Michael Flynn, Michael Cohen

Flynn's decision Tuesday came as President Donald Trump's personal attorney, Michael Cohen, rejected a House intelligence committee request for information, and former White House staffer Boris Epshteyn confirmed he has been contacted for information as part of the House investigation. The committee aide, who wasn't authorized to discuss the issue and spoke only on condition of anonymity, said the action would have been taken without agreement from the Democratic minority on the committee.

Flynn's private interactions with the committee. Cohen did not cooperate with that request, telling CNN on Tuesday that the request "was poorly phrased, overly broad and not capable of being answered", and that he considered it a "total fishing expedition".

Meanwhile, Cohen, Trump's personal attorney, told the AP that he turned down a request for information from the House intelligence committee looking into the Russian interference. Jared Kushner, the president's son-in-law and senior adviser, was also present at the December meeting, the White House previously acknowledged.

Nunes canceled a public session that had been set for March 28 to hear testimony from fired Acting Attorney General Sally Yates about her January warning that Flynn was lying about his contacts with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. The president was reportedly referring Comey's FBI's investigation into Flynn. The backchannel was never established. Congressional sources described the action as "separate" from the committee's Russian Federation probe. There is nothing extraordinary about such confidential channels being set up with foreign governments, not only by USA administrations, but also by incoming presidents and even by presidential campaigns prior to elections.

Two subpoenas were sent to his businesses.

The concocted character of the "scandal" over back channels with Russia is of a piece with the fabricated nature of the entire anti-Russian narrative. He is not expected to reveal any new details about the ongoing probe of Trump associates and whether they engaged in any illicit activities with Russian agents seeking to meddle with the election, according to people familiar with the matter. Pearson reported from NY. According to reports, three more focused on how Trump officials were "unmasked" in intelligence with their names uncovered, a pet peeve Trump has harped on for months, leading Democrats to cry foul.

Michael Bloomberg Is Happy To Bankroll The Paris Climate Accord
If he accepts the idea of climate change, it might create a division among him and his base supporters. While Webb considers himself a conservative on many issues, he said he is not a Trump supporter.

A spokesman for Mueller, a former Federal Bureau of Investigation director, declined to comment.

However, those three Obama administration officials did not personally receive subpoenas, the sources told the Journal.

According to U.S. media, he discussed setting up a back channel line of communication with Moscow's envoy to Washington.

But the Russian Federation investigation only picked up more momentum yesterday.

"While we anticipate interviews to begin shortly, we have agreed that the pace of those interviews will be dictated by the needs of the investigation and not the preferences of outside parties", he said in a statement.
