Antoine Griezmann: Atletico Madrid exit would be 'dirty move'

Manchester United fans are clinging on to some hope that they will land Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid this summer.

Various reports over the last fortnight have suggested that Griezmann, supposedly open to a move away from the Vicente Calderon, was in line to complete a deal with Man United before the end of June.

On Thursday evening, following the ruling, the 26-year-old showed his support to his current club by tweeting "Now more than ever #Atleti #All together".

The France forward Griezmann has contributed to the ongoing furore over his next move with various pronouncements over recent days, with Manchester United widely claimed to be chasing him as their prime close-season target. Manchester United's Europa League win over Ajax will give the Belgian striker the chance to play Champions League football next season, something Koeman can not offer.

Everton's Romelu Lukaku has been strongly linked with United and former club Chelsea.

Houston reaches home regional final with 7-5 win over Iowa
Baylor starter Montana Parsons (5-4) surrendered five runs - four earned - in five innings with three walks and four strikeouts. If Iowa beats Texas A&M on Saturday, it would have to lose two straight games in order to not win the regional round.

"It's a tough moment for the club, for my team-mates, and it would be a low blow to leave now".

Manchester United are offering Griezmann a weekly wage of £280,000 ($360,500) or just under £15 million ($19.3 million) a year.

However, Griezmann's departure would leave Diego Simeone unable to reinvest the transfer fee and his respect for the club has trumped his ambition to play in the Premier League.

However, the club is not letting the decision affect them as the club has stated that they are confident that they can compete with the best teams next season regardless of their transfer ban.
