Apple HomePod: 6 Things to Know About Apple's Siri Speaker

Apple opened its annual "World Wide Developer Conference" on Monday with a keynote address that packed in dozens of announcements of interesting new products and software features. "HomePod packs powerful speaker technology, Siri intelligence and wireless access to the entire Apple Music library into a lovely speaker that is less than 7 inches tall, can rock most any room with distortion free music and be a helpful assistant around your home".

HomePod will taking Amazon Echo and Google Home, which have been building momentum in the market for voice-controlled speakers capable of controlling smart appliances, fetching content from the internet and more. Google Home and Amazon Echo have certainly jumped out to a headstart in this category, but that just means Apple has had a chance to sit back and watch the reaction in order to release its own version with hopefully less issues and an emphasis in key areas. The protection is similar to what Google Home and Amazon's Echo speakers already offer.

The founders of video-based social shopping app YEAY, where teens find their fills of Yeezy and Supreme, were also eyeing an update that lets iMessage users pay each other using Apple Pay, said chief product officer Ben Mosse.

Apple HomePod comes at $349 (Rs 22,440 approx.) and will start shipping in the US, UK and Australia starting December this year. To show you in the simplest form how it compares to Google Home and Amazon Echo, we put together the chart below. It also packs software that can detect where the speaker is in a room and adjust its output accordingly, to deliver what Apple says is optimal sound in any situation.

Recently, Apple has launched a new iOS update that will be compatible to all Apple devices.

Apple CEO to MIT grads: Tech without values is worthless
This post will update with a transcript of Cook's full speech when it is available. Apple has $257 billion in cash reserves, and most of it is outside of the U.S.

Potentially indicative of what Apple probably will come up with its next smartphone, expected to come out later this year on the 10th anniversary of its initial rollout of iPhone, is its plan to release an augmented reality (AR) kit to developers, so as to encourage the creation of AR apps to work with the new device. The next iOS may also have new features designed for artificial intelligence, the application of computers that learn and understand things like humans. But the ability to work with third-parties is part of what makes them most useful. With the HomePod, only after Hey Siri is recognized locally on the device will any information be sent to Apple servers, encrypted and sent using an anonymous Siri identifier. Although Apple Watch has emerged as the leader in its technological niche, it hasn't become a smash hit like the iPhone or the iPad - at least until tablet sales started declining. The latest big player to enter the scene is Apple HomePod.

Safari, Apple's web browser, seeks to make users' online experience smoother and less annoying. By watching what users search for and interact with, Siri can offer assistance in a variety of ways; either through more relevant search results, more useful messaging prompts or even more appropriate navigation choices.

Which one is best? Apple integrated their HomePod with an advanced algorithm to constantly analyze the music and dynamically tweak the low frequencies for a fluent, distortion-free sound. And Apple is also getting its say in the matter.

Look for the HomePod to go on sale in December for $350.
