Baseball Gunman Had List of GOP Congressmen in Pocket During Attack

Perhaps he also failed to recognize Congressman Brooks, but as Rep. Palmer said on Yellowhammer Radio yesterday, it's evident that God spared their lives.

The Daily Caller's report did not identify the source of its information. All three are members of the House Freedom Caucus, which is a bloc of conservative House members.

CBS News reported that the note was not necessarily an "assassination list", but that it indicated Hodgkinson had recently focused on the individuals on the list. The list of names included Alabama Rep. Mo Brooks, South Carolina Rep. Jeff Duncan and Arizona Rep. Trent Franks, TheDC has confirmed. But Fox News reported that it had not confirmed any names on the list.

Police investigate a shooting scene after a gunman opened fire on Republican members of Congress during a baseball practice near Washington in Alexandria, Virginia, June 14, 2017. It happened while Republican congressmen were practicing for the annual Congressional Baseball Game.

The list was written out on notepad paper and found in the shooter's pocket, according to multiple sources with intimate knowledge of the situation, who spoke on condition of anonymity, citing the sensitivity of the investigation. U.S. Capitol Police and D.C. Metropolitan Police Department also declined to comment. Among those was House Majority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana, who remains hospitalized after undergoing several surgeries after being shot in the hip.

G7 summit kicks off in Italy
Trump said earlier this month he intends to withdraw the USA from the agreement unless it can be renegotiated. The G-7 environment ministers were expected to issue a concluding declaration Monday.

Rep. Peter King (R-NY) said on "The Story" that this bad incident is a sign that our political rhetoric has gotten far too extreme, and that it can "set off psychopaths" like Hodgkinson.

Hodgkinson was injured in a shootout with police and later died of his injuries, according to officials.

The FBI said in a joint statement with other law enforcement agencies Friday that it is continuing to process evidence in an effort to determine a motive in the shooting.

Saclise's doctor, Jack Sava, said Scalise will need further operations but he is expected to be able to walk and run again.
