Trump tweets again, in defense of his tweeting

President Donald Trump confirmed Friday he was under investigation and appeared to take aim at a senior Justice Department official, in a tweet that seemed to encapsulate his frustration with the ongoing focus on Russia's involvement in the 2016 election.

Two people close to Trump note that his is an obsessive personality - whether about businessmen who wronged him over the years, his years-long and fruitless quest to prove President Barack Obama wasn't born in the United States, to reporters who have written negative stories about him.

When Trump fired Comey, Rosenstein drafted a memo accusing the FBI director of bungling the investigation into Hillary Clinton's email server, and Sessions wrote a letter saying the dismissal was warranted. Witch Hunt", Trump said in a series of agitated tweets on Friday morning, adding, "After 7 months of investigations & committee hearings about my 'collusion with the Russians, ' nobody has been able to show any proof.

The White House confirmed Mr Mueller was among the candidates the president interviewed to replace Mr Comey.

Trump may be referring to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who in a memo to Trump raised concerns over Comey's performance.

Trump said he was "being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director!" The transition official spoke on condition of anonymity because the person was not authorised to discuss post-election decisions publicly. Trump was never a subject of the Russian Federation probe, nor did he ever seek to impede it, but his potential interference on behalf of Michael Flynn on a tertiary matter likely attracted this tentacle of the investigation.

Comey said he typed notes describing the conversations because he was anxious Trump "might lie" later about them.

The move ordered Thursday by the transition's general counsel cast a wide net on documents tied to the Russian Federation investigation as well as inquiries into the activities of Trump associates.

Those officials are Dan Coats, the director of national intelligence; Michael Rogers, the head of the National Security Agency; and Richard Ledgett, the former NSA deputy director. "Regulations way down, jobs and enthusiasm way up!", Trump tweeted. With just about a week to go before India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled arrive in Washington to meet Trump on June 26, the U.S. capital is awash with intrigue and suspense, with frequent parlor talk about if and when Trump will throw in the towel and the prospect of a "President Pence". Although USA Today also noted that the tweet came shortly after a Washington Post report that Mueller's team is also investigating Trump son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner's business dealings. I can go around them", while claiming that "Despite the phony Witch Hunt going on in America, the economic & jobs numbers are great.

The transition official said the organisation has also separately asked the General Services Administration to preserve records from the Trump transition that were transferred to its facilities after Trump's inauguration. He then added, "Why is that Hillary Clintons family and Dems dealings with Russian Federation are not looked at, but my non-dealings are?"
