Dead, missing toll in London fire rises to 79

Grenfell residents in ‘passionate angry’ exchanges with PM at Downing Street

Aluminum cladding with insulation sandwiched between two panels has been blamed for helping to spread flames in major fires in many parts of the world, including blazes in the Middle East, Europe, Asia and the United States. Attention has focused on materials used during the renovation process completed past year.

Britain's Press Association reported that some 70 people are still missing after the fire. This 58 include the 30 already confirmed dead, according to Cundy.

Many residents of the building remain unaccounted for, and police said numerous remains may never be identified.

On Saturday, NHS England said 19 people were being treated in hospital, including 10 in critical care.

"I would like to reassure everybody that we will be looking at all criminal offences that might have been committed by any individual or any organisation", Cundy said.

Cundy said the police investigation into the blaze would look at the building and its refurbishment in 2016 and vowed to prosecute people "if there is evidence".

Police have been struggling to come up with an authoritative list of who was in the building when the fire started, making it hard to determine how many had died. He asked anyone who was in the tower and survived to contact police immediately.

Police say the harrowing search for remains had been paused Friday because of safety concerns at the blacked tower but has resumed.

Finsbury Park attack: 'This is terror on the streets,' says Jeremy Corbyn
At around midnight, a 48-year-old man in a white van drove into a crowd of worshippers outside a mosque north of the city centre. Toufik Kacimi , chief executive of the Muslim Welfare House , tells Sky News there is no "need to react with tension".

British outlets said May struggled to offer support or leadership in the wake of the blaze, accusing her of lacking emotional intelligence and calling her "Maybot".

One woman wept, saying it was because the PM declined to speak to anyone outside the meeting which lasted less than hour.

She also noted that an emergency fund of more than $6 million has begun to be "distributed on the ground so people can buy clothes, food and other essentials".

He said the community in north Kensington, west London, was "frustrated and, yes, angry".

Touching members of the royal family has been historically reserved for only handshakes, but the prince was so moved by the story of 78-year-old Fatima Jafaria, a distressed woman who was reportedly desperate to find her husband who was trapped in an elevator during the time of the fire, that the royal embraced her instead.

Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn said Sunday the government has the power to take over empty apartments and offer them to the hundreds of Grenfell Tower residents left homeless in Wednesday' inferno.

Officials are using dental records, fingerprints, DNA samples, tattoos and scars to try and positively identify victims.

British officials have announced a nationwide minute of silence to honour the victims on Monday morning. One version of the product [has] a polyethylene core, the other version is around a fire-retardant mineral core."Contractor says that he met all the fire safety standards but the questions are going to be, which kind of siding was used and what were the risks?" The queen said it was "difficult to escape a very somber mood" on what is normally a day of celebration.
