London fire: 58 confirmed or presumed dead after Grenfell Tower disaster

He told reporters the "awful reality" was that it might not be possible to identify all the victims.

British officials say they are helping the Syrian family of the first officially confirmed victim of the London tower blaze to come to Britain.

"It has been decided today that the public inquiry will report back to me personally", May said.

Local anger began building Wednesday as the 24-story residential Grenfell Tower block caught fire and was consumed by flames in a matter of minutes.

"And it is incredibly hard to describe the devastation in some parts of that building". It includes 30 deaths that already have been confirmed, and reports of people who are missing and presumed to have been killed.

Sajid Javid promised that the Government will do "whatever is required" in the wake of the disaster. The British government has announced a 5 million-pound ($6.3 million) emergency fund for the victims.

The fire has left the building nearly completely charred, and there were concerns about the tower's structural integrity, as it appeared to lean slightly to one side.

In a statement to the Press Association, they said: "With the exception of very few junior officers, the estate managers have been invisible in the aftermath of the tragedy". The upper floors of the block are particularly hazardous due to the damage caused by the fire.

Angry crowds also stormed a local government office Friday, shouting, "We want justice" and demanding that authorities provide an accounting of the victims, as well as support for the survivors.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan, who was at the meeting, said he used it as a "crucial opportunity for me to make clear to the Government" what the residents need.

Pakistan 'pressure' got to India, says Kohli
But his run out following a misunderstanding with Ravindra Jadeja just typified the day India had at the Oval. It was a match where everything went awry for the "Men in Blue" from the time Kohli went out for the toss.

He said the atrocity followed "years of neglect from the council and successive governments".

Residents of the destroyed tower said May was far too slow to visit the stricken community, that the building had been unsafe and that officials have failed to give enough information and support to those who have lost relatives and their homes.

Kensington and Chelsea council leader Nicholas Paget-Brown, meanwhile, insisted to the BBC officials had "been working around the clock since Wednesday".

Earlier this week, May was confronted by protesters furious over her handling of the Grenfell Tower disaster.

In a television interview, Mrs May said the fire was "absolutely horrifying" and had been a "terrifying experience" for those affected.

"Those who mock health and safety, regulations and red tape need to take a hard look at the consequences of cutting these and ask themselves whether Grenfell Tower is a price worth paying".

"Current building regulations allow its use in both low-rise and high-rise structures".

She added: "There are people in there, obviously, who have been subject to a very intense fire, and that will make some of the identification very hard, which is why it's even more important that we make sure we do this in a measured, careful and very well managed way". Speaking earlier in the week, he said: "It can not be acceptable that in London you have luxury buildings and luxury flats kept as land banking for the future while the homeless and the poor look for somewhere to live".

"If there's some sort of task force that is established that assists in identifying non-conforming building products then we would have to support that".
