Trump aides Kushner and Greenblatt to visit Israel, Palestinians this week

The trip comes as Kushner was said to be considering hiring criminal defense lawyers to represent him in a widening federal probe into Russia's meddling in the 2016 election, the New York Times reported on Sunday.

The meeting was followed by a brief press conference after which Trump left Bethlehem to visit the Israel Museum and Holocaust memorial in Jerusalem.

Almost a month after President Donald Trump's maiden trip to the Middle East as the US commander-in-chief, Jared Kushner, Trump's senior adviser, will travel to the region this week to try reach a peace deal between Israel and Palestinian people, a report said Sunday citing a White House official.

Jason Greenblatt, the Trump administration's top official in charge of Israeli-Palestinian peace, will travel to the region on Monday, and Kushner will join on Wednesday, according to the Journal.

The visit to the Middle East will be Kushner's third since Trump was elected.

Kushner will be embarking on, this, his third visit to the region amid speculation that he is considering making amendments to his legal representation in the probe regarding the Trump Administration's connections with Russian Federation.

Trump faces 'obstruction of justice' charges
Rosenstein was among those who advised Sessions to recuse himself, according to officials briefed on the matter. However, White House press secretary Sean Spicer denied Ruddy has spoken to the President about the issue.

In May, his father-in-law and boss - during an address in Jerusalem - expressed personal committed to helping the Israelis and Palestinians achieve a peace agreement. "He strongly believes that peace is possible".

Sources suggested the prospect of a deal between the two nations is merely the White House attempting to show immediate positive results from the president's recent trips to Saudi Arabia and Israel.

According to CNN, Trump has appointed some of his "trusted advisers" to take the lead in reaching a peace deal with Netanyahu and Abbas. The two will work behind the scenes to advance direct talks between the parties, the official said.

Mustafa Barghouti, a Palestinian leader involved in peace talks both with Israelis and internally, said Palestinians were skeptical of Kushner and Trump's team generally, as they saw the duo was close only to the Israeli side.

According to the White House, Trump has kept the US embassy in Jerusalem open in a bid to advance the prospects of a peace agreement. "Let's see if we can prove them wrong, OK?"
