Pakistan army mocks India after Champions Trophy victory

Pakistani players celebrate an Indian wicket

The Delhi police busted a betting racket and arrested three bookies during the final match of the Champions Trophy cricket tournament between India and Pakistan, the police said on Monday.

Fakhar Zaman had remained a part of the Pakistan Navy Cricket team for seven years, according to a Pakistan Navy press release issued here.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya was the highest scorer among the Indians with 76 runs from 43 balls.

Gaining sweet revenge over India, Pakistan thrashed their arch rivals by 180 runs at The Oval to win the Champions Trophy for the first time.

Amir finished with three for 16 in six overs and Hasan Ali, who kick-started Pakistan's revival in their group-win over top-ranked South Africa, ended the match when Jasprit Bumrah gloved behind to gleeful captain and wicket-keeper Sarfraz Ahmed.

Pakistan have become the fourth team, after India, West Indies and Sri Lanka, to complete a treble of ICC tournament wins. For a team that can't play global cricket at home due to security issues, the victory has far-reaching implications.

As soon as India lost the match to Pakistan, the Indian fans turned out to be furious and started expressing their anger against the Indian cricket team on the city streets.

In spite of tweet, lawyer insists Trump not under investigation
Jay Sekulow , an attorney for Donald Trump , on Sunday said the president is not being investigated for obstruction of justice. Sekulow explained the president's tweet that appeared to acknowledge he was under investigation from the special counsel .

However, it was not long before the opener found his feet and things looked rosy for Pakistan as Azhar and Fakhar brought up their respective fifties from successive balls in the 20th over.

Amir was the man doing the damage, Pakistan's talisman taking three wickets to rip out India's top order.

Apart from Zaman (114), Azhar Ali (59), Mohammad Hafeez (57 not out) and Babar Azam (46) also contributed handsomely to Pakistan's cause.

The two quick wickets of Yuvraj and Dhoni had India at 54-5 and with no realistic chance of winning the contest.

"To be honest I think this is a whole team work, the way we batted, the way we bowled, the way we are fielding".

"We tried to do out best, but even with the ball, they were aggressive, we didn't show any resistance apart from Hardik, who's knock was outstanding", he said.

The country has a tradition of producing exciting fast bowling talent and 25-year-old Mohammad Amir and Junaid Khan, 27, can be expected to spearhead the pace attack at the next World Cup. Sarfraz Ahmed's uncle, who has always been a staunch Indian supporter, said that he was praying all day for India to triumph over his nephew's team on Sunday. "All the credit goes to the entire team, they all worked really hard".
