According to Cilia, the two other employees who were shot, who were also both drivers, were treated at the hospital and released, and will recover from their injuries.

Police had an unidentified person in custody following an apparent workplace shooting at a UPS facility in the city's Potrero Hill neighborhood.

The gunshot victims, like the killer, were all UPS drivers, and the attack unfolded as the workers gathered for their daily morning meeting before starting their delivery rounds, said Steve Gaut, head of investor relations at UPS.

The shooter killed three co-workers and wounded two others before turning an assault pistol to his own head when police approached.

According to NBC Bay Area and ABC 7, he later died at an area hospital.

A motive has not yet been determined, but the Associated Press reported that Lam had previously filed a complaint claiming he was working excessive overtime. The gunman had recently been fired from the facility.

A UPS employee in his uniform opened fire on employees. "Even one shooting and one victim is too many".

The building was cordoned off, and police conducted an examination of the fleeing people.

This photo provided by Jerry Zakatchenko shows the scene at a UPS package delivery warehouse where a shooting took place Wednesday, June 14, 2017, in San Francisco, Calif.

Several people believed to be UPS employees stood on the rooftop parking area at the building with their hands raised, apparently to indicate they were not involved and needed assistance.

The shooting led to a massive police response, initiating a shelter-in-place for the surrounding area.

UPS officials also issued a statement saying it could not identify the suspect or victims and that it was "cooperating with law enforcement". "It creeps me out and I don't feel safe", said an area resident who wanted to remain anonymous.
