Dashcam video shows officer firing 7 shots into Castile auto

Philando CastileJeronimo Yanez

Amid news that a Minnesota police officer was acquitted of manslaughter in the killing of Philando Castile, actor Michael B. Jordan and free-agent National Football League quarterback Colin Kaepernick have weighed in - and the latter has made a damning declaration. Several moments pass and Reynolds is heard narrating what just happened over Facebook Live.

While Yanez walked free from criminal charges, he will not be returning to "active duty", the city of St. Anthony in a statement following the verdict.

The video shows Yanez, who is Latino, following Castile's vehicle, then pulling it over. He then asks for Castile's license and insurance while another officer stands on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Yanez, 29, is heard telling a supervisor that he didn't know where Castile's gun was, then saying that he told Castile to get his hand off it. Yanez testified, "What I meant by that was I didn't know where the gun was up until I saw it in his right thigh area". Castile is then heard saying, "Sir, I have to tell you, I do have a firearm on me". "Don't pull it out".

When the shooting stops, the video shows Yanez standing at the vehicle window with his gun drawn for some time.

The dash-cam video - part of a trove of documents, images and audio from the investigation - shows Yanez approaching Castile's auto and explaining that he was pulled over for broken brake lights. Yanez says, "OK. Don't reach for it then".

"As that was happening, as he was pulling at, out his hand I thought, I was gonna die and I thought if he's, if he has the guts and the audacity to smoke marijuana in front of the 5-year-old girl and risk her lungs and risk her life by giving her secondhand smoke and the front seat passenger doing the same thing then what, what care does he give about me?"

"I told him not to reach for it", he says.

What Are Analysts Report About AstraZeneca PLC (AZN)
The stock of AstraZeneca plc (ADR) (NYSE:AZN) has "Equal-Weight" rating given on Tuesday, January 19 by Barclays Capital. On average, equities analysts anticipate that Astrazeneca PLC will post $1.86 earnings per share for the current year.

When Yanez opens fire, another officer near the vehicle jumps back, and Yanez begins yelling at the driver.

But the professor says Yanez "made a awful mistake, and he shouldn't be a cop".

"And I don't know where the gun was, he didn't tell me where the f***ing gun was and then it way just getting hinky, he gave, he was just staring straight ahead, and I was getting f***ing nervous, and then I told him, I know I f***ing told him to get his f***ing hand off his gun".

After days of deliberations last week, a jury found Yanez not guilty on all counts related to the July 6, 2016 shooting. Yanez can be seen approaching Castile, who was black, and asking for a driver's license and proof of insurance.

Castile's family has vowed to take the case to civil court. "My heart breaks for this nation".

"Even if you had that on video, the question is could the officer have seen that", Harris said, noting that the standard remains: "What could a reasonable officer have seen from his or her point of view?"

"The system continues to fail black people", said Castile's mother, Valerie, following the verdict.

"I feel like it's 10 times worse now", she said.
