Barbie's boyfriend Ken has just had a major makeover

15 new Ken dolls released by Mattel

This all comes on the heels of them doing a similar thing previous year with Barbie herself, making her with four different body types and all kinds of different, modern hairstyles. The dolls also boast cool fashions and styles for a new generation. Mattel has announced Ken the doll is going through a makeover, actually 15 makeovers as Ken is going to have 15 new looks.

"We are redefining what a Barbie or Ken doll looks like to this generation", said Mattel's Lisa McKnight, who supervises the Barbie line.

His girlfriend Barbie now has 25 diverse figures in the Fahionistas collection.

Ken is getting a makeover and will be sporting 15 new looks, including cornrows, a beefy bod and new skin tones. Last year Mattel introduced three new body types for Barbie: tall, curvy and petite in addition to new skin tones and hairstyles.

Mattel's portfolio of global consumer brands includes American Girl®, Barbie®, Fisher-Price®, Hot Wheels®, Monster High® and Thomas & Friends™, among many others. You could call him Man Bun Ken if you'd like; we're sure he wouldn't mind. His launch comes on the heels of the expanded Barbie Fashionista line, a move the company says will make it "the most diverse fashion doll in the marketplace".

Chile survive Australia scare to make semis
Cameroon bowed out of the competition after two defeats and a draw, while Germany advanced to the last four as Group B winners.

The new Ken dolls will be sold through various United Kingdom national retailers. One of said hairstyles will be the above-pictured man bun.

Ken hadn't changed much since he was introduced 56 years ago as Barbie's blue-eyed, chiseled boyfriend.

According to Barbie history, Ken and Barbie met on the set of a TV commercial in 1961 and have been inseparable ever since.
