Lower rhetoric to help ease tension in Gulf

The United Nations aviation agency will hold a special hearing on June 30 after Qatar requested that the UN body intervene in the diplomatic crisis which has seen a Saudi-led bloc close its airspace to flights from Doha.

The GCC, or Gulf Cooperation Council, includes Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait as well as Qatar.

Several demands put forward by the nations last week call for Qatar to cut diplomatic ties with Iran, close the Al-Jazeera broadcasting network, and shut down the Turkish airbase within its borders.

Tillerson said that "a productive next step would be for each of the countries to sit together and continue this conversation".

A Turkish foreign ministry statement Sunday reiterated that the deployment of Turkish troops in Qatar contributed to regional security and was not aimed at a specific country. Tillerson called on all parties to lower their rhetoric and to seek unity in the fight against terrorism.

Erdogan said calls to withdraw his country's troops from Qatar were disrespect to Turkey. The precision munitions are part of Trump's proposed $110 billion arms package to Riyadh, which the administration said would create U.S.jobs while also improving a key ally's military capability. Iran and Turkey have backed Qatar in the crisis, with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan calling the demands an attack on the gas-rich nation's sovereignty and against global law.

Brawl Shuts Down San Francisco Westfield Mall
Because of the level of violence and the number of innocent bystanders inside the mall, the center was closed early, police said. A San Francisco police spokesman said calls came in around 6:43 p.m. reporting a large fight at the mall.

Qatar has been under unprecedented diplomatic and economic sanctions for more than two weeks, with Iran and Turkey increasingly supplying it with food and other goods.

We endorse and appreciate Qatar's stance towards the 13 demands.

Qatar has maintained the list of demands as unreasonable, unrealistic and an impingement on the country's sovereignty.

The crisis erupted on June 5 when Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Egypt, and others broke ties with Qatar, accusing it of backing extremism, a claim Doha denies.

On Saturday, Qatar's foreign minister rejected the list of 13 conditions imposed by the four countries. "Re-evaluating the base agreement with Qatar is not on our agenda, " he said. "In this context NHRC urged the state of Qatar not to accept those demands", the article said.

We are ready to develop Tehran-Doha relations in all fields, continued the Qatari Emir, adding: "Relations between Iran and Qatar have always been developing and powerful".
