Rep. Steve Scalise released from intensive care unit

Rep. Steve Scalise, 51, the House majority whip, was gravely wounded in the shooting June 14.

Ryan said Scalise craved updates on work as he recovers at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Doctors said he had arrived at the hospital last Wednesday at imminent risk of death. Two others also suffered minor injuries. He was struck in the hip when a gunman opened fire at a baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia. He was listed in critical condition after the shooting, but a George Washington University Hospital spokeswoman said Mika was in good condition Friday.

FBI investigators have not released the names on the list, but Griffith said law enforcement informed him of his connection to the case Thursday - the day after the June 14 shooting.

Leaders of the FBI's Washington field office will discuss their investigative findings at a news conference Wednesday.

FBI special agent Timothy Slater, who led the investigation, said law enforcement is still trying to determine Hodgkinson's exact motives for the shooting. He traveled all the way to Washington, D.C. since March.

The FBI says Hodgkinson also rented a storage facility in the city, where he kept computers and over 200 rounds of ammunition.

Manslaughter charges considered in Grenfell fire inquiry
Detective Superintendent McCormack added: "We will examine the construction of the building including the refurbishment". Police have searched the tower from top to bottom but she said a forensics test might not completed until next year.

The FBI said in a statement the agency is actively investigating him to look at his associates, whereabouts and any activity on social media.

Hodgkinson obtained the weapons used in the shooting legally, purchasing the rifle in 2003 and the handgun in 2016 from licensed firearms dealers.

Republicans and Democrats honored those injured in the Alexandria shooting - including Rep. Roger Williams, congressional aide Zach Barth and Capitol Police officers Crystal Griner and David Bailey - at the Congressional Baseball Game on June 15, raising a record $1.5 million for charity. The shooter died in a hospital the same day. He was having marital problems, Slater said, and was running out of money around the time of the attack.

A review of the gunman's internet searches showed the man only did a cursory search of two people on the list, said Slater, who did not denote which two lawmakers.

Additionally, Slater said, Hodgkinson did not appear to have had specific targets or "an agenda to actually follow through on these six individuals".

"Hodgkinson made numerous posts on all of his social media accounts espousing anti-Republican views, although all of the posts reviewed thus far appear to be First Amendment-protected speech", the Federal Bureau of Investigation said in a press release.
