Senate Bill To Replace Obamacare Could Be In Jeopardy

Sen. Susan Collins of ME says she thinks getting the votes needed in the Senate this week to pass a Republican bill to replace the Affordable Care Act could be very hard.

"I would like to delay the thing", Johnson said. "It's hard for me to see the bill passing this week". The Democrat reiterated her opposition in a statement to The Associated Press on Sunday, saying the health care bill being pushed by Senate Republicans is a "monstrosity".

Susan Collins of ME said on ABC's "This Week" when asked whether the Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and President Donald Trump could get her support by week's end.

That's not sitting well with GOP Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, Mike Lee of Utah, Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, Rand Paul of Kentucky and Dean Heller of Nevada to address their differing concerns about the bill.

We could see a vote sometime this week.

It's crunch time in the nation's capital as the Senate bill to replace Obamacare appears to be in jeopardy.

President Donald Trump is bemoaning what he calls "the level of hostility" that he says has stymied bipartisanship in Washington.

The match should be one of the best this week, with both teams eager to get the victory for bragging rights in a historic rivalry. Wearing the captain's armband, Kane slammed home the 48th-minute penalty for his eighth worldwide goal and third in two games.

While discussing the Republican health bill during an interview on "Fox & Friends", Trump said it would be great if lawmakers from both parties could "come up something that everybody's happy with". As the Senate's number two Republican, it is Cornyn's job to pressure his colleagues to support the bill.

And the president called Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren "somebody that's just got a lot of hatred".

Warren is a leading liberal and defender of the current health law.

He said they had "at best, a 50-50 chance". The Senate now has 52 Republicans and 48 Democrats. He said Democrats "are doing everything we can to fight this bill because it's so devastating for the middle class".

Collins said another seven to eight senators including herself remain troubled about the possible Medicaid cuts. A Congressional Budget Office analysis of the House measure predicts an additional 23 million people over the next decade would have no health care coverage, and recent polling shows only around 1 in 4 Americans views the House bill favorably.

"You can't take over $800 billion out of the Medicaid program and not expect that it's going to have an impact on a rural nursing home", Collins said on ABC's "This Week" on Sunday.

Speaking on the release of the bill, which was kept under wraps until Thursday, Trump said: "It's going to be very good", adding: "A little negotiation, but it's going to be very good".
