Black Panther stars grace the cover of Entertainment Weekly

With that excitement guaranteed to stay "lit" until next winter, it only makes sense that Entertainment Weekly would go behind the scenes of filming and obtain some exclusive shots of the cast. We'll learn more about why the country's rulers have sealed it off from the rest of the world, what makes Black Panther so powerful (the Heart-Shaped Herb), and of course, the machinations of Killmonger. (They'll return soon enough in this November's Thor: Ragnarok.) But now, it will also influence movies like Black Panther; similar to Civil War, Black Panther will be a political adventure that will take audiences around the globe, from its Wakandan lands all the way to underground South Korean casinos.

Black Panther gets the cover, and along with it comes a slew of new details about the movie.

There are a number of African cultures spread across the continent that have traditionally used scarification and cicatrisation as a form of body art and Black Panther's costume designer Ruth E. Carter has championed bringing as much real world African influence into the movie as possible.

In self-defense, Wakanda has closed itself off from the other nations of Earth, maintaining a false front that it's a mere third-world nowhere - full of mines, farms, and jungle creatures. Watch the teaser trailer below.

King Cobras, lizards seized in express mail package at JFK Airport
The contents of one package were described as a "plastic tray", but an x-ray showed the contents were snakes in a round container. Almost a half a dozen king cobras and a handful of geckos were seized by border agents at Kennedy Airport, authorities said.

There's also a chance that Ulysses Klaue has an axe to grind from past events that we didn't see unfold in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but can be glimpsed in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Meanwhile Michael B. Jordan portrays Erik Killmonger, a power-hungry rebel who's teamed up with a foreign ally to usurp the throne.

L to R: T'Challa/Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan). One of his allies includes Lupita Nyong'o as Nakia, one of Wakanda's covert agents who is responsible for keeping the nation's secrets under wraps, which includes hunting down anyone who threatens the country.

Although we're still about seven months away from the release of Black Panther, anticipation for the Marvel flick continues to build at an impressive rate.
